If you have United MileagePlus miles, availability in
upper class cabins is almost non-existent on its own planes.
Icelandair's
upper class cabins are comparable to domestic or intra-European premium classes, not to typical international business and first class cabins.
As with many airlines, you don't get great value using Asia Miles to fly on Cathay Pacific's extremely well - regarded
upper class cabins when you book directly for long - haul flights to Asia.

In total, the new interior will feature 471 seats split into four

Business
Class takes up most of the
upper deck with a small Economy
Class cabin in the back (some have the entire
upper deck as Business).
Most notably, the First
Class Suites
cabin has been relocated from the lower deck of the Airbus A380 to the
upper deck.
Unfortunately, none of the Business
Class cabins comes close to the intimate and private ambience of the Business
Class cabin on the BA Boeing 747
upper deck (read my review here).
The 97 Business
Class seats on the A380 are located in 3
cabins: one on the lower deck (between First and Economy
Class) and two on the
upper deck in the front of the plane (with a galley in between them).
On this flight from Dubai to Sydney, I had seat 12K, which was very private, due to the big partition, and the fact that it is in the very small 3 row (12 seat) business
class cabin at the front of the
upper deck, which was way smaller then the other 8 row
cabin in front of the premium economy section.
While many global airlines are eliminating first
class from their long - haul aircraft, Singapore is sticking with the traditional premium
cabin — but it is cutting the number of first
class suites on the A380s from 12 to six, and moving them to the front of the
upper deck.
The Emirates A380 First
Class Cabin is at the front of the
upper deck, with 14 closed suites in a 1 -2-1 configuration, three of them in the middle as paired couple's seats (although the divider can be raised for solo travelers).
