I
used to be a fan
of doing a ton
of books for each
giveaway, sometimes ten or more.
These start appearing within a few days
of sales starting on your
book, but you can speed them up by
using a promotion or
giveaway.

of book giveaways to build my platform, and I still like to reward readers by sharing my favorite
books.

book along with some other bestsellers in your genre (I'm going to do both,
using different lists for each).
So, I think you could
use them to do a
giveaway of only a set number
of books.
If the wholesale cost
of the
book is $ 3.25 and the potential from giving away your
book is in the thousands, the return on investment is high and therefore a valuable tool for
use as a
giveaway.
Host a
giveaway for Amazon or bookstore gift cards — everyone could
use more
books this time
of year!
Free

used in order to get reviews
of a person's
book.

Giveaway has long been
used by indie authors and small publishers to build reviews for their
books by giving away free copies
of their paperback editions.
I like the idea
of a genre blog network — must investigate that, and also the idea
of using friend's
books for
giveaways / prizes.
