Using Sleep Cycle is super easy: open the app, set your desired alarm time, and put the phone on the mattress behind your pillow.
Chris (you know, from earlier) just started
using Sleep Cycle and he is amazed at well it works — he says it's the only alarm he's ever had where he doesn't «wake up feeling groggy, weak, or annoyed.»
Everybody has a different set of circumstances that will determine how their sleep will be promoted when
using Sleep Cycle.
If you have a sleeping partner, both of you can
use Sleep Cycle and your phones will actually talk to each other to judge who made which sound.
But if you've
used Sleep Cycle before and are looking for a solid alternative, Pillow is your app.
Well, that was the way
you used Sleep Cycle for years.
Not exact matches
Some moms
use reverse
cycle nursing, which means breastfeeding often at home and working during their baby's longest
sleep stretch.
My daughter started (or continued) to wake when she needed to pee / feed, but as I did not change her like I
used to, she would fall asleep nursing and wake after every
sleep cycle, feeling discomfort.

used it.
By understanding the basics of infant
sleep cycles, knowing the healthy
sleep options (crib, bassinet, co-sleeping), understanding
sleep safety, and
using the best tool at your disposal, your instinct,
sleep will hopefully come easier for you and your child.
Unless your baby is doing excessive day time
sleeping (which is rare) you would be far better to focus on solid naps and get baby
used to resettling from one
sleep cycle to another rather than shortening this
sleep time.
The book The 90 Minute Baby
Sleep Program talks about
using the 90 - minute basic human rest and activity
cycle to help regulate your child's nap patterns.
The idea of this is to get her
used to
sleeping through the
cycle rather than continuing to habitually wake up at the 40 - 45 minute mark.
At times, your baby may find it difficult to fall asleep, or the
sleep cycle may become shorter than they are
used to.
We also
use them for naps and bedtime so that she is able to go through her
sleep cycles without waking fully.

While tryptophan is a precursor for melatonin (the neurotransmitter involved in
sleep cycles) it is first
used to make serotonin.
I'm not sure how uber accurate it is but it
uses the iPhone's accelerometer to sense movements throughout the night and graphs
