Using nuts on top for crunch and a nice, toasty flavor does help a lot.

If you have whole pecans
on hand, and don't have a
nut chopper, simply
use a measuring cup or drinking glass to crush them before sprinkling them
on top of the dough.

On top of these trends, our loyal fan base have been asking us to create a handheld snack item
using our yummy
nut butter.
We ditched the sugar in the apple sauce (because it's really not needed if you
use sweet apples), replaced cookie crumble with a simple
nut and date crumble and
used whipped coconut cream
on top to make it vegan.

If you still want a crumbly
topping, you can
use quick - cooking oats (perhaps toast them
on a dry skillet first for a nuttier flavor) or
use any kind of
nuts you have
on hand (if you'd like to
use nuts at all, that is).
There were some minor changes in the recipe, mostly due to limitations of my pantry: we do not have frozen apple juice concentrate here so I just finely grated some apples and added a pinch of sugar, let it sit for a few minutes to give the juice time to come out; o) I also
used fresh apple juice instead of the water and didn't have any
nuts on hand (silly me forgot to check and realized the were all gone when I as in the middle of baking) so I just crumbled some Italian

top it with) and when I have tomatoes I like to cut up a few and add them as well.

nuts, chia seeds, or fresh mint.
Hi Johnna, sunflower butter is fine - it depends
on how much you
use but
nuts and seeds in general should be consumed in moderation (they are
on top of the «keto pyramid»).
Sprinkle
