But Valve's revamped website, launched this week, offers fresh insight into the
company's focus and mission, including their dedication to building
hardware,
VR and otherwise.
Below that we get a strong hint that the
company sees
VR as a central tenet of their future
hardware work; a section is headlined: «We're just getting started,» and is accompanied by a GIF showing a progression of prototype
VR hardware leading up to the Vive, including images of Valve head Gabe Newell wearing a particularly massive prototype that we haven't seen before.

Some industry watchers previously speculated that the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will launch with Daydream support out of the box seeing how their

companies have been jointly developing
VR technologies for a while now, and it's currently unclear whether the hiatus between the release of Samsung's flagship series and the rollout of its Daydream support is intentional or necessary.
The free Windows 10 Creators Update will include the Windows Holographic shell - the core operating environment for Microsoft's mixed reality experiences - but more significantly, the
company has also been working with its
hardware partners to develop low - cost
VR headsets that can connect to users» PCs.

hardware, and in addition to new phones, Homes, and laptops, the
company showed off a new generation of its Daydream View
VR headset.
HTC's ambition is to define itself as more than simply a
hardware - builder for
VR, as the
company aims to craft itself into the infrastructure of virtual reality content.
The plan for Hololens is much like the early
VR developer kits, too, in that it's there to help seed the market with content and allow
