DOT is also working to ensure that electric
vehicle drivers have access to
charging stations at home, at work, and on the road by supporting the development of
charging infrastructure and establishing zero emission and alternative fuel corridors (see July 2016
Fact Sheet).
If those numbers are in
fact legitimate, they would blow away the
charging times of any other electric
vehicle in the market including Tesla's supercharging
stations.
In
fact, it might be required to break the chicken - egg problem; fewer people will buy plug - in
vehicles if they don't feel like they can find a
charging station when they need it, and few
charging stations will be built if nobody buys plug - in
vehicles... So by getting the ball started in this way, the UK government can help break that vicious cycle.
