The Joni dress is another of the Voodoo
Vixen dresses from their Spring / Summer line that I saw at London Edge and immediately knew I had to have.
As this was my first Voodoo
Vixen dress, I decided to do a full review.

Anyway, the fit of this
dress is a dream and my hat is off to Voodoo
Vixen because this is down to two features: 1) elasticated shirring in the back and 2) adjustable straps.
I think Voodoo
Vixen have my favourite new range that's out at the moment — so many gorgeous details on their
dresses!

For my first foray into Voodoo
Vixen frockery, I decided to review the Aria hot air balloon print
dress, rated below in terms of fit, fabric, and floatability.

I came across the picture above of a yellow gingham pinafore style
dress which I liked, from one of my sewing books, and I also remembered this
dress from that Solanah of
Vixen Vintage wore a few years back that I had on my list of «
dresses to make», and I thought that I could make this
dress work.
It's fun to find something that's out of the norm, whether that's because the design is a bit geometric and oversized or because it's a flower you've never seen before, or because, like this Amber
dress from Voodoo
Vixen, it chooses to showcase an oft - overlooked colour on which to frame it's floral print.
Finding swing
dresses, rather than wiggles, in those fabrics can be harder, which is why I was excited when I came across the Tiger - Lilly
dress by Voodoo
Vixen.
And now there's Voodoo
Vixen's Sylvia
dress, which has a mixture of many of those features, as well as something else entirely.
I love Voodoo
Vixen's
dresses, there's a shop very local to me that sells them and I can't help going in now and then to admire them.
As I've said before, Voodoo
Vixen don't size by UK
dress sizes and have their own perimeters for what fits their S / M / L / XL letter sizes.
I find repro
dresses can sometimes look a bit too kitsch and costumey but Voodoo
Vixen really seem to hit the nail on the head.
I mentioned last week that I recently bought the Black Evening
dress from Doll Me Up Darling in the same order in which I bought two of their
Vixen Vondetta tops.

This same leopard print is also offered on the
Vixen swing

Vixen pencil skirt, as well as the long sleeved Troublemaker top.
Unfortunately this
dress won't be coming to the plus sized range right now Voodoo
Vixen rely on their stockists requesting plus sized items in order to be able to make and extend that range, so a drop or slow interest in retailers wanting to stock Curve effects why they're able to offer massively.
In terms of fit and sizing, I chose my usual Voodoo
Vixen XL in this
dress and it fits true to size.

dress that I featured last week, there are also a lot of new arrivals on the Voodoo
Vixen website at the moment, which I can't wait to try.
As I mentioned in my last Voodoo
Vixen review, I find most of their
dresses come up a little on the large side and where I've gone for an XL in the past I've sized down and gone for a L. I'm so glad I did as this sits perfectly on me and I think the larger size would be a bit too loose.
