Aston Martin presented the Vanquish Zagato
Volante at Pebble Beach, and the Gaydon - based carmaker is ready to deliver the open - top beauty to just 99 lucky customers, with deliveries starting in 2017.
Available now in both Coupe and
Volante at Aston Martin Palm Beach.
As you might have guessed, it's ostensibly an Aston Martin, and a DB9
Volante at that, but granted reworked styling like the Vengeance coupe launched last year.

Which is why Aston's designers and engineers have pulled out all the stops to make the latest # 159,900 V8
Volante as good to drive as it is to look
at, and a fair bit roomier, stiffer and more practical than its immediate predecessor, too.
Predictably, the
Volante's wide range of dynamic personalities are best enjoyed with the hood down, when wind noise is impressively well suppressed,
at least up to three figures, although you need the wind deflector in place much above 50mph.

Sharing the 510bhp 5.9 naturally aspirated V12 and ZF automatic gearbox with the now extinct Aston Martin DB9, the Vengeance
Volante» adopts the same reworked body and interior as the hard - top Vengeance coupe launched
at last year's Geneva Motor Show.
As the name suggests, the
Volante is effectively the drop - top variant of the Vanquish Zagato revealed earlier this year
at Villa d'Este.
DBS Carbon Edition prices start
at # 186,582 for the coupe and # 196,581 for the
Volante.
But it's

Volante truly sheds its Aston Martin roots.

In these latest spy pictures, although it seems that the development of the car is progressing

The Zagato
Volante debuted this week
at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The
Volante uses a triple - skin lightweight fabric roof, instead of the folding metal item of some rivals, such as the Ferrari 458 and McLaren 12C Spiders, and it retracts in 14sec
at speeds up to 30mph.
As with all convertibles, the abbreviated roofline has resulted in a longer deck and the
Volante has lost the rear - end flow that makes the current Astons so beguiling to look
at.

The exceptional DB9
Volante will now be entered into the special charity auction
at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, CA next week, with the winning bidder generating a $ 10,000 donation to MCHS, benefitting Vista Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired.
At $ 216,495, the
Volante is the priciest DB11 of all, and providing space for the roof to fold away shifts the rear seats forward, cutting almost an inch of legroom from an already tight package.
The production car was introduced
at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August 2007 with a convertible
Volante breaking cover 18 months later.
Production of the coupe started
at the new Gaydon factory very early in 2004, with the DB9
Volante coming on stream early in 2005.
The much anticipated DBS
Volante was unveiled as expected
at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show with a promise to go on sale later in 2009.
Deliveries of the Carbon Edition began late in October 2014
at a # 7,000 premium over the standard Vanquish
Volante.
Augmenting the DBS
Volante's supreme handling characteristics is the near perfect weight distribution — achieved by mounting the 6 - speed gearbox
at the rear placing 85 % of the weight between the front and rear axle.
Fully retractable in only 14 seconds and
at up to speeds of 30 mph (48 km / h), the roof will automatically stow under the newly sculpted tonneau, maintaining the DBS
