to go outside of Turf
War (and into more competitive - minded) gameplay.

Very well expressed yes I do agree the series is getting
to be a bit boring and old in reality all

War's Nemesis system has given rise
to some of my cherished memories of the year, including one Orc who just kept coming back from the dead whom I actually sort of miss now that he's actually gone.
In a way, Ascendancy
feels like a
game of two three distinct parts, with the first devoted
to the exploration of a rich galaxy brimming with potential and some light skirmishes, the second being an almost cold -
war situation with everyone eyeing each other up and the final portion coming down
to warfare and betrayed alliances.
If you've ever touched any of FFG's prior
war games like Star
Wars: X-wing then you're going
to see a lot of familiar stuff here, from the dial system
to the movement templates and the surge icons on the dice, which
feel a bit out of place here.
LEGO Star
Wars III: The Clone
Wars may be the best LEGO
game to date, it's still the same at the core but manages
to add in enough new stuff
to keep it
feeling fun
to play, and the old charm still works wonders.
The introduction of a Factions
War feature means that you'll be
feeling competitive even when you're not in -
game, as you permanently align yourself with one of the three and attempt
to dominate the world map (which doubles as a
game - mode menu) over the course of several «turns.»
If you really want
to delve back into the history books, though, the
game feels a lot like C&C Generals, with strong ties
to Act of
War in its PoW system where you can capture fallen enemy soldiers and hold them as prisoners which will generate you extra income.
With very little
to distinguish the
game between its predecessor, and more fat on the bone than a blue whale, Shadow of
War started out promising, and I quickly
felt very much at home, but one
game and 15 - 20hours into its sequel and the novelty had finally worn off.
As we played the
game, however, what was most surprising was that even though so much had changed, it still
felt like God Of
War to us.
Mass Effect 3 wraps the individual missions up into a meta
game called «Galaxy At
War», trying
to make it
feel like a concerted campaign against an unstoppable enemy that demands the feuding races finally start
to work together towards an escalating common goal.
I have never been in a
war, but I
feel games like Call of Duty seem
to depict these situations as close
to an action hero perspective as possible.
Sadly Guild
Wars was one of the only
games to ever really get this right, and for some reason few developers have
felt the need
to invest time in recapturing the same
feel Guild
Wars accomplished so long ago.
Hell, we even have enough
games commenting on the nature of
war that it no longer
feels novel for them
to do so.
Considered by many
to be a complete reboot of the series (or at least of the fiction), Lords of Shadow
feels less like traditional Castlevania
games and more like a God of
War - style action
game with ties
to the lore that many people are familiar with.
Total
War: Warhammer 2 is the first
game in the series that changes its predecessor's formula enough
to feel fresh, while not completely reinventing the wheel.
And using the wiimotes with Star
Wars force unleashed was beyond awesome for
feeling right in the
game when you had some frustrations
to let out.
As for the rest of the
game, Total
War: Warhammer 2 plays and
feels very similar
to its predecessor.
This should
feel familiar
to anyone who's ever commanded Vader in the recent Star
Wars Battlefront video
game, or the opening scene from the less recent Star
Wars: The Force Unleashed.
This isn't the case, if this is your first God of
War game; you're going
to feel a bit left out.
Now more than ever with Infinity
Wars being one of the biggest film releases of all time, this would be the optimum time
to release a
game that the fans
felt like has been long overdue.
I don't like that and as seen recently in Shadow of
War, micro-transactions can exist without coercing the
gamer into
feeling as if they need
to splash any cash.
But with Microsoft's commitment
to the Play Anywhere premise — of its
games launching and linking up across PC and Xbox One seamlessly — Halo
Wars 2
feels like a good starting point for bringing the Chief's universe back
to desktops, and in a way that could succeed where other experiments like twin - stick disappointments Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike have previously failed.
Instead of focusing on formation and army variation, it often
feels as if the
game is happy
to let you select all of your units and order them into an area, letting you sit back
to witness the spectacle of battle without worrying about the nitty gritty — Halo
Wars 2 sure is a pretty - looking
game, after all.
It's an interesting concept, but with memories of initial Star
Wars Battlefront
games on the original Xbox fresh in my mind, and the fact that they had a similar
game mode but also allowed players
to take the combat on foot upon the various ships, Starfighter Assault
feels like yet another missed opportunity
to create something spectacular.
Were Halo
Wars 2 simply coming
to console, these omissions may have gone overlooked, but with Creative Assembly bringing the title
to Windows 10 we have the uncomfortable
feeling that it won't be substantial enough for many PC players
to sink their teeth into and far too simple
to hold attention of some erratic console
gamers.
Basically, the combat
feels a lot more skill - based than previous
games and has a bit more depth
to it than you'd expect from a God of
War game.
