Clear Teaching: With Direct Instruction, Siegfried Engelmann Discovered a Better
Way of Teaching Written by veteran journalist Shepard Barbash over a period of 10 years, Clear Teaching is a well - researched, highly readable introduction to Direct Instruction (DI).

Starting with no grammar or dictionary, indeed not one
written word to aid them, missionaries have learned the oral language, often without benefit
of any interpreter — definitely the hard
way — worked out an alphabet, reduced it to
writing, prepared a grammar and dictionary, translated some portions into the newly
written tongue, then had to
teach the natives to read their own language in order to read the Bible.
Tacitus (a.d. 55 - 120), the greatest early Roman historian,
wrote that Christus (Greek for Christ) had lived during the reign
of Tiberius and «suffered under Pontius Pilate, that Jesus»
teachings had already spread to Rome; and that Christians were considered criminals and tortured in a variety
of ways, including crucifixion.»
And so I conclude this month
of posts with a prayer
written by four

way Jesus
taught us to pray, a prayer for me, for you and perhaps your church community:
Cox has
written a theological manifesto that urges readers to see Jesus and his moral
teachings in the
way that Cox does» disconnected from the trappings and truth - claims
of traditional Christianity and therefore relevant to our search for answers today.
In context, he refers to the «holy apostles» (Eph 3:5), as a
way of speaking about the apostles who were called and sent by Jesus Christ to lay the foundation for the church by
teaching and
writing about Jesus Christ and the gospel (Eph 2:20).
Paul
writes in Ephesians, «You were
taught, with regard to your former
way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.»
I used to
teach and
write about the death
of Jesus in this same
way, and in fact, many
of the posts and sermons which you can find on this blog will contain this exact sort
of theological explanation about the death
of Jesus.
I
write and
teach about racism out
of my own anxiety as a white person, and out
of my own experiences
of learning about racism and trying to find a
way to join a larger movement
of people working for racial justice.
«The preaching and

The historical problem can be stated in some such
way as this: «We know that the Gospels were
written more than a generation after the events they relate occurred and that they bring us the preaching and
teaching of the churches — or
of some
of them — after the Christian movement had emerged into a Gentile environment.
While I know well that there is some great

Our previous generations had no
way of having enough knowledge to know the truth,

My reading
of the text holds that it is faithful to Church
teaching but unfortunately
written in a
way that allows for a reading (or misreading) that would permit the use
of contraception in some instances.
But in recent decades, many Christians around the world have begun to
teach and
write about the Kingdom
of Heaven in a different
way.
Jesus the Son
of Marry (Peace and blessings be up on him) is known today to the Christian world as it is being described by John, Paul, Luke and others... whatever the
way these human imagined him became the faith... record shows that the first book
of NT was
written at least 60 - 80 years after Jesus the son
of Marry was taken away from this earth... and these writers used their vision as a weapon to get it to the brain
of mankind... also there are debates among the Christian scholars that no one knows who is the writer
of some
of the gospels... someone else
wrote it and used the names what we see today... i.e. no one knows when and who and how the Hebrew chapters were
written... despite
of lots
of controversy on this, Christian scholars uses them to
teach others...
The membership area
of my site allows me to say «Thank you» in a big
way to those who choose to support my
writing and
teaching.
I will be

way for churches to transition from lots
of teaching, to a more balanced «
teach and serve» approach.
There are many non-literate peoples in existence today who
of course have no
written law, but whose lives are closely regulated by a well - recognized set
of laws and customs which are
taught to children by parents, and are enforced in one
way or another by the community.

of these activities can be viewed as benefiting the postdoc in some
way, such as gaining experience in
teaching or grant
writing, but the benefits to institutions and their faculty contributed by postdocs can not be disregarded.
Genuinely acknowledging and rewarding these other key impact factors, such as societal engagement,
teaching excellence, and input and deliberation at key meetings and conference participation could go a long
way toward balancing the demands
of academic output to publish alone, thus lessening the pressure to spend endless weekends and vacation time
writing for quantity rather than quality.
