this club, under his tutelage, has ruffled a lot of feathers over the years and now it's coming home to roost... his arrogance has rubbed many the wrong way, but winning provided the perfect tonic to cure all ills... whether largely self - created or a byproduct of all the media attention, Wenger seemed to embrace his cult - like status, which would eventually be his downfall... he claimed that his club was different... more of an extended family than a footballing club and only those with what he deemed as «special» qualities could even hope to join such an exclusive club... these «qualities» were hailed by most, especially as the wins kept rolling in... but with exclusivity comes a certain amount of cockiness, which can be somewhat healthy in a highly competitive environment if it comes from a honest place... it wouldn't take long for the fans to embrace their bespectacled former economics professor, going so far as to suggest he could do no wrong... but this fairy tale couldn't last forever

Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off

I honestly do not think Wenger has much more to offer us, his best years are behind him but then I want to take solace in the appointment of Henry as assistant coach to the u18s and see that as Wenger's imminent exit strategy; I mean if we look at the volume of transfer activities in the last couple of seasons in and out of our youth teams and the quality of the signings, it's been a bit strange, for good example, Chelsea baulked at the size of Donyell Malen's wages [at 3.6 million pounds over three years] but Arsenal of all clubs, oddly so signed him up.
Arsenal are a Big Big draw for potential managers and I would imagine quite a few will be very keen to restore OUR CLUB to where we should be.Wenger staying well past his due date has made the new managers job so much easier.Whoever takes over will only have to concentrate on bettering a declining league position with little or no immediate chance of winning one of the TWO major honours that have been beyond Wenger for years.

Joey Mack, Well done 100 % correct, very smart why don't you put your hand up to take over from Wenger, you seem to have the plan to take the club forward with your forward thinking.
of course no team wants to lose but I can guarantee you that the reaction by the Chelski fans after today's results are nowhere near what would have occurred if we shit the bed on opening day... the difference is they have tasted EPL success on more than one occasion recently, they have won the Champions League and they have done it with 3 different managers in the last 12 years with a similar, if not smaller, wage bill than us... in comparison, we have been experiencing our own personal Groundhog Day with nothing to show for it but a few silvery trinkets that would barely wet the appetite of a world - class club... so it's time for Wenger to stop gloating over our week one escape act and make some substantial moves before this window closes or I fear that things will take a horrible turn when the inevitable happens... living on a knife's edge is no way to go through a full season of football and regardless of what side of the argument you fall on, you could feel high levels of toxicity in the air and that was friggin week one... I would much rather someone tried their best and failed, than took half - measures and hoped for the best
Just a word for our W, O, B friends: don't be over the moon with this meaningless poll.A sample of few hundreds of voters don't represents millions and millions of fans over the world and even the opinion of these millions are pointless since, as it's the case in any club of the world, the BOARD members are here to take decisions, not the fans.In our club, as we all know, no one will DARE to say a word to wenger let alone sack him....
to take over at arsenal in the not to far disatant future he would be a steady pair of hands to ensure we shoudln't have a melt down like man united, and it would be a continuous progression of the clubs philosophy from wenger, but koeman does tend to tighen up hs teams defenses better than wenger though.
It's draining we lost to spurs but more over than anything the way we lost was embarrasseing and shocking we were played off park most game that has concern us as fans spurs bullied us out played us hungry in every department it's has fall with wenger when is time when he just accepts game has passed him matter of fact it has passed us arsenal fans aswell no control in middle very poor from xhaka and elneny and again dembele bought mortgage in midfield he's the owner my god vieria would of knocked he's house down but look we're very poor and away from home sad really how wenger keeps he's job is just pure stupidity but not just with today's results over all away from home we're relegation side go get Enrique before Chelsea get him and let but of class and youth take our great club back before Tottenham spuds leave us so far behind we won't even complete this series lack lustrous club
Even though the season may have only just started and there is therefore a long way to go until we will find out if this is indeed Wenger's last campaign in charge, it hasn't stopped fans from wondering who may take over at the Emirates, once Le Prof does leave the club.
I can only hope that this attempt is taken more seriously than the largely muted and clearly unsuccessful protests of late last season... although the plane writing escapade brought some much - needed attention to the matter, it failed to resonate with fence - sitters and those who had just recently fell off the Wenger truck... without a big enough showing of support the whole endeavor appeared relatively weak and poorly organized, especially to the major media outlets, whose involvement could have significantly changed what was to follow... but I get it, few wanted to turn on their club, let alone make a public display of their discord... problem is, they are preying on that vulnerability, in fact, their counting on you to keep your thoughts to yourself... who are you to tell these fat cats how to steal your money... they have worked long and hard to pull the wool over your eyes... they even went so far as to pay enormous sums of cash to your once beloved professor to be their corporate spokesmodel so that the whole thing would be more palatable... eventually the club made it appear as if this was simply a relatively small fringe group of highly radicalized supporters, which allowed the pro-Wenger element inside the club hierarchy to claim victory following the FA Cup win... unfortunately what has happened to this club can't be solved by FA Cups or a few players coming in, the very culture of this club needs to be changed and that starts at the top... in order to change the unhealthy and dysfunctional narrative that has absorbed this club we need to remove everyone who presently occupies a position of power... only then can we get back to the business of playing championship caliber football, which should always be the number one priority of this organization... on an important side note, one of the most devastating mistakes made in the final days of this hectic and poorly planned transfer window didn't have to do with the big name players like Sanchez or Lemar, but the fact that they failed to secure Jadon Sancho, who might even start for Dortmund this season... I think they might seriously regret this oversight... instead of spending so much time, energy and manpower pretending that they were desperately trying to make big moves, they once again lost the plot due to their all too familiar tunnel vision
this is what you get for the previous share holders selling to Kronke and no other, the departure of david dein, the retaining of wenger, tolerating sub standard management and on field performances, retaining deadwood over the use by date, i have supported arsenal since 1979 our club is just a cash cow for a greedy disinterested owner to prop up his other interests, lets hope we do not get relegated under this owner / management fiasco, they will take their money and run, we will be left to clean up and re-build, football before greed, concerned supported.
the board is not the problem but Wenger is the problem, he (Wenger) threatened to resign some years back if usmanov takes over the club, so that he can continued with is endless ambition with no positive result.....
Every one loves Wenger and he knows that, he has been great but if he is really a serious man that wants the club to be among the top elites like he says then let him accept defeat and resign and allow another manager to take over.
Until this tiny petty manager and owner leave football to the real passionate experts out there we won't even exsist as a top club so we're better off waiting for that day to come in 2/3 years and hope usamanov is the man to take over and cleanse the whole club from top to bottom and rid of Wengers cancer and loosers who get paid way to much just to install a tiny weak loser mentality and petty training and transfers Tactics with teeny weeny transfer fees and huge wages for mediocre staff n players Bring on 2020
like I've said before, Wenger is simply stating that Sanchez is staying so that he can regain some leverage when it comes time to make a deal and to shift the focus back squarely on Sanchez... this is 101 tactics in PR management... the very fact that he even mentioned RVP's name speaks to the utterance arrogance of a man that believes he answers to no one... before you harshly judge Sanchez think carefully about what the ultimate intentions of both parties involved... Sanchez wants to win trophies and get paid generously for his efforts, whereas the club wants to pull the wool over our eyes once again so that we blame the player for wanting the very things we told him we wanted when we brought him in... how many times do we have to go down this road before we realize the only common factor in each of these scenarios is the club itself... trust me, if we showed any ambition Sanchez's contract demands would be much different... just like in other major sports players will take a «home town» discount if they see those in charge making a truly honest attempt to fight for the highest honours in their respective fields... that being said, if they see a team trying to make disparaging remarks about them in the press and not following through on their promises, they will likely try to make them pay a premium for their services or seek greener pastures... btw if anyone simply looks at the score versus Bayern today and thinks that even for a second that this was a deserved victory, just watch the game and judge for yourself... actually save yourself the anguish and just know that if it weren't for Cech and Martinez this could have been a repeat of our Champions League flopping or worse
Wenger has already taken the club backwards after just over two months of the season god only knows what mess he will leave us in if he is allowed another six months!
