printed cookbook, created by the community itself!
I clicked on
print and got 8 pages of beautiful pictures and name of
wonderful frostings but no recipes or instructions as to how to make —
what a waste of my printer ink!!!

What seemed ingenious, a tad sacrilegious, on the
printed page comes off as just plain dopey on the big screen, despite some
wonderful Mathew Brady - inspired tableaux by veteran photog Caleb Deschanel («The Natural») and an amiably awkward performance by Benjamin Walker, who as Lincoln resembles a young Liam Neeson.
Indeed, I still read the
printed pages -
what a
wonderful smell, the feel of real paper, the rustling of it, the little notes I sometimes write next to the text (or used to), the ability to pass the same book, with inscriptions, to the children who might pass them on to theirs... and someday, those little hands that hold the very same book will associate a grandparent with it.
What was there was lovely; I managed to snag two
wonderful prints of Han and Chewbacca, and Spider - Man courtesy of Gary Erskine, plus the first issue each of Interesting Tymes (Dave McCluskey) and City of Lost Souls (James McCulloch and Janine van Moosel).
His
prints themselves are exquisite and it will be
wonderful to see
what he will share with students and audiences here in Denver.»
