As a multidisciplinary artist, she uses different media: when working with paper, panels or walls, she will employ acrylics while she will paint with oil on canvas or linen.

★ Moira Dryer Project (through Feb. 22) The first exhibition in 20 years of the obdurate yet romantic wood - panel paintings of Moira Dryer (1957 - 92) is a two - part affair that is especially relevant at a time when younger painters, many of them women, are exploring new ways of getting physical with their medium.

Wooden panel paintings are sometimes used as an alternative to canvas when very precise paintwork is intended (miniatures were / are still painted on wood, copper or even slate panels), or in conjunction with tempera or acrylics when the artist wants to build up the paint in very thin layers.

When I make the paintings, I pour the color onto the panel, which is horizontal on the floor, and then I lift it and tilt it so the color flows.

By 2002, when I was showing with Tibor de Nagy Gallery, I was working exclusively with egg tempera; my second and final shows there were of egg tempera panel paintings.

which shows that if automakers made cars that were covered with solar panels instead of paint (incorporate them into the bodywork), and you covered your windows with solar panels when not using your car, you could drive 30 km a day for free with today's technology, and 50 km a day with slight improvements.

It's got ridges, just like real beadboard, and when you apply it to wood (and paint it), it look and feels just like real beadboard paneling.

My bedroom had that ugly brown paneling in it when we bought the house, and the first thing we did was paint it Navajo White by Porter Paints.
