I used a large pastry bag and a star tip (
Wilton 1M) to make these into rosette shapes, but if you don't have either of those things, you can simply spoon them out onto the parchment paper.
If you want to pipe the frosting, I like to use a large
Wilton 1M star decorating tip.
You can either spread the frosting on the cupcakes with a small spatula or, if piping, use a large
Wilton 1M open or closed star tip to make lovely swirls.
This buttercream recipe frosts 24 cupcakes with
the Wilton 1M tip shown.

Decorate the cupcakes using a knife, or a piping bag and your favorite piping tip (I typically use a star tip, such as
the Wilton 1M).
Place in a piping bag, fitted with
a Wilton 1M open star tip, and pipe rosettes on top of the cake.
