The foundation's support has been particularly meaningful for us, since it recognizes the hard
work BURNAWAY has done to support and promote artists
in and from the South, from providing valuable
exhibition coverage and taking readers into artist studios to offering professional
development workshops, lectures, and visiting critic residencies.
Featuring nearly one hundred
works from the artist's most innovative years, the
exhibition examines how drawing played a major role
in Dubuffet's
development as he explored on paper new subjects and techniques and experimented with non-traditional tools and modes of application.
With almost 40
works, this
exhibition proposes a complete view of the artist's aesthetic
development, starting with his figurative
works, when he exhibited
in Barcelona
in the early 30's, until his latest abstract paintings of the 90's after going through the abstract expressionist stage that became so relevant
in the United States during the 40s and 50s.
Spanning both galleries and encompassing
works in a wide range of media — including paintings, new bronze sculptures,
works on paper, neon texts and a video — the
exhibition reveals the most recent
developments in Emin's intensely personal yet profoundly universal oeuvre.
Featuring nearly 100

in - school artist residencies and a gallery fieldtrip program, serving 4,500 students annually; studio programs offering visual and media arts classes for all ages, serving 3,700 people annually; professional
development training for teaching artists and public school teachers; and contemporary visual art

Through video, performance, archival materials, documentation and original

While the
exhibition's heart looks at the
work of Chicanx artists
in Los Angeles, it reveals extensive new research into the collaborative networks that connected these artists to one another and to artists from many different communities, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and international urban centers, thus deepening and expanding narratives about the
development of the Chicano Art Movement, performance art, and queer aesthetics and practices.
Although all of the artists have donated
works to help to support the magazine and the
development of the art school, this
exhibition has been carefully considered to reflect that which is current, significant and critical
in contemporary painting, including abstract
works by Thomas Nozkowski, Mali Morris and Phil Allen, and painters who have championed a figurative approach such as Chantal Joffe, Neal Tait and Dinos Chapman.

The
exhibition continues a recent
development within Murillo's practice
in which multimedia
works are grouped together within clear plastic tray frames.

work at Dugway Proving Ground, a classified military setting

Phyllida Barlow is a central figure
in the
development of Contemporary British Sculpture; she has not only had major
exhibitions throughout the UK but through her extensive teaching career, at Slade School of Fine Art, has guided and influenced many younger artists yet, until now, none of her
work has been acquired for public collections
in this country.
The
development of the
works with and beyond the space will be the key starting point for both
exhibitions,
in Muttenz and
in Nürnberg.
The award will support the
development and production of a new body of
work for two UK solo
exhibitions in late 2015 and early 2016.
An
exhibition charting the
development of art
in South Africa, from the creations of early human society to examples of contemporary
work.
We see the responsibility of the gallery as threefold: to
work for the long - term
development of each artist's career, acting as a liaison to international galleries and museums as well as placing
works in collections; to create an historical archive for each artist; and to act as an accessible public space

exhibitions become an exemplary gesture of the power of subjectivity to the audience at large.
This
exhibition displays the student's thesis final portfolio of
work for one week
in one of our galleries, including a closing celebration on that Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. To allow as much
development time as possible, most thesis shows occur
in the second half of the spring semester.
Works from the collection are now on display
in an
exhibition at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art
in New Orleans, which similarly draws attention to the important
developments made by black artists over the past 70 years or so, specifically relating to abstraction.
