Last week I
wrote a
post about the
inspiration of Scripture and the
inspiration of other religious books which struck a cord with a lot of people.
Over the next several
posts, I want to explain the history of the doctrine of the
Inspiration of Scripture, the passages that are used to defend it, and provide a slightly modified and nuanced approach to the process by which I think God might have superintended the
writing of Scripture.
It has been about a year since I
wrote my
posts on
inspiration for this series.
In yesterday's
post I suggested that if we understand the
inspiration of God as the «whisperings of God» then it makes sense to think that God has been whispering truth not just to the authors of Scripture, but also to people who
wrote the writings of other religions.
If God is perfect, and if God was behind the
writing of Scripture (see
posts on
inspiration), then it is logical to believe that God made sure the Bible is a perfect record of what He wanted human authors to
write.
If I have a recipe, I'll e-mail it to you, and, as often as I can, I use the request or question as
inspiration to
write an entire blog
post.
