A relatively decent shooter that is better than it has the right to be, but certainly won't be considered a classic of
the XBLA platform.
Clearly
the XBLA platform is growing.
One of the developers that's helping to round out the Xbox One's launch lineup is Twisted Pixel, a former indie studio now owned by Microsoft known by XBLAFans readers for bringing several great games to
the XBLA platform.
It isn't the prettiest game in the world, but with a consistently high frame rate, quick action packed matches and a unique form of game play tailored for
the XBLA platform, Hybrid is definitely the game to play in this year's Summer of Arcade.

Peggle for
XBLA is a good example of a game that we took that was popular on the PC and we spent probably twice as long as anyone else would have figuring how to make that game really good for Xbox and Xbox Live Arcade, and I think you will see that with Plants Vs. Zombies — I don't know the exact order in which that game will make its way onto other
platforms, but it's certainly been successful enough, quickly enough, that we're looking at other
platforms and deciding where we'll take that game next...
Along with a solid single - player campaign the game — which was simultaneously released on
XBLA, Windows 8, Windows Phone and Windows Surface — comes bundled with the ability to play online and offline multiplayer skirmishes along with a much - hyped asynchronous mode, allowing matches to be played across all four
platforms.

XBLA serves two purposes very well: it's a
platform for getting quirky, risky, or otherwise disenfranchised indie games into the public eye, and it breathes new life into the arcade classics of our youth.
The original was a humble
