the XE feels as good as a driver's car as the BMW 3 - series, and the Jaguar badge on the grille carries a panache that will make it stand out until the company's mass - market dreams come true.
Like the best examples of this breed,
the XE feels better the harder you push it, though it's also plenty quiet and comfortable on the daily commute.
In keeping with the sporty character of this segment, the 2017
XE feels snug and intimate from the driver seat.

feels more expensive and better screwed together, more like the German cars it's trying to woo you away from buying.

feels fairly nimble through the corners, and for a rear - wheel drive sedan, it strikes what seems to be a perfect balance between having a playful rear and not
feeling like you're going to crash nose into the apex of every tight corner... It is, coupled with the excellent steering, probably the
XE's most interesting and praise worthy point, an area where it beats the overly - stiff Germans whose offerings give you the
feeling that they are more suitable for highway cruising rather than blasting down country roads.
That's how it
felt sitting inside the
XE.
I
felt like I could tote clients around in the
XE or arrive at a business meeting creating a striking first impression.
But at the end of the day, something about the
XE just didn't
feel special enough to justify the price.
Some material choices are questionable as well: Even on the top - trim
XE R - Sport, the seat leather
feels inexpensive and slippery, and there is hard plastic on the door sills and armrest that do the opposite of surprise and delight.
