A recent report suggesting a coupe version of the Jaguar XE is in the works got us thinking; what would a coupe version of
the XE look like and more importantly, what kind of engine will it have?
Based on novelty alone you'd have to give
the XE a look; it brings to the class a fresh style the others can't match.
The Jaguar
XE looks conservative in pictures, partly owing to a similarity to the bigger Jaguar XF, but on the road it has real presence; Jaguar has developed a strong, coherent look for all its models, with the XE, XF, XJ, F - Type and F - Pace all sharing traits.
Marketed as the British answer to the BMW 3 Series,
the XE looks as if it will take on the 3 Series lineup from top to bottom.
Lightweight, gorgeous, packed with the latest JLR technology and powerful yet fuel - efficient engines,
the XE looks ready to bring the fight to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes - Benz C - Class, and Audi A4.
Combine those powerplants with a relatively lightweight, aluminum - intensive chassis offering thrilling handling, and
the XE looks like the perfect choice for those who need a unique identity and extra driving pleasure from their sports sedan.
It's no accident that
the XE looks a bit like the BMW 3 Series.
Bar the snazzy new red and black colour scheme, the HTC Sensation
XE looks much the same as the original Sensation.
Not exact matches
The two companies are calling their new memory 3D XPoint memory (pronounce 3D crosspoint memory) because its structure creates an lattice - like stacked layer of wires that
looks like
Xes when viewed from above.
The styling of today's XJ may not be everybody's taste, but I love that it doesn't
look like the cookie - cutter design of the smaller XF and
XE sedan and that it is no longer trying to carry on the
look of the Series 1 XJ.
Out back, the defining features of the
XE and XSE are twin tailpipes at each end that frame a diffuser
look (we could do without the black trim piece at either side of the rear bumper, but the color - keyed sills are a slick touch), while the rest of the trims feature a more restrained, traditional
looking rear bumper and single tailpipe setup at each end.
The Jaguar
XE, BMW 3 - series and Mercedes - Benz C - class give buyers plenty of compelling choice should they
look elsewhere.
Jazzed up in racier R - Sport trim and British Racing Green paint, it's one of more purposeful
looking combinations in the
XE catalogue.
North American car enthusiasts will have their chance to get their first
look at the
XE SV Project 8 super sedan during Monterey Car Week on August 17.
The interior, he says, will have «some similarities» to the
look of the 2017 Jaguar
XE sedan and, «it's less radical than the concept.»

The design may
look similar to that of the smaller
XE, but the quality is not — the XF feels more expensive and better screwed together, more like the German cars it's trying to woo you away from buying.

XE and Mercedes C - Class, to newcomers like the Tesla Model S. With taut lines, a low roofline and Audi's trademark grille and headlights, the A5 Sportback can easily stand its ground in the
looks department, and is arguably more desirable than the Audi A4 saloon it's based on.

When Lincoln pulled the sheet off the 2017 MKZ, my first impression was that it
looked very similar to a Jaguar
XE.
What I don't get though is they put the very distinctive Alfa Romeo front end on it, then the doors
look like they came off the 3 - series and the tail lights oculd have come from an Audi, Jag
XE, Kia / Hyundai, they just
look boring.
Aluminum is used throughout the body structure to keep weight down, but you'd never know it from just
looking at the
XE.

Though redesigned just last year, the XF
looks exactly like the headline - grabbing

Rest, I would recommend Jaguar
XE only on
looks, comfort, performance, and of course the brand that drives the sales.
Along with the new lighting package, I think the car appears more luxurious than before and even
looks a little like the Jaguar
XE.
Simple, stylish and a little understated, the compact
XE sedan
looks like a smaller iteration of the brand's XF midsize sedan.
Those
looking for a sedan that boasts real luxury status and features have likely already given some thought to the 2018 Jaguar
XE and 2017 Audi A4.

looking at the 2017 Jaguar
XE 35t Prestige owes it to themselves to check out the BMW 3 Series and the new Audi A4, since these are two of the best in the class.
Also a product of Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations, the tamer version of the Project 8 (some say it will be dubbed
XE SVR) manages to still
look menacing with its big wheels, low rider height and what
looks like an interpretation of the humongous air ducts which define the be-spoilered, pumped - up limited - edition monster.
There's no doubt about the stylish exterior, even if at first glance it
looks like a larger version of the
XE sedan with which it shares its 75 per cent aluminium modular architecture, and if closer inspection reveals only subtly different design cues like the shoulder crease and headlights.
