For a while now, Sony has been releasing open beta versions of
its Xperia Home launcher for some of its mobile phones.
Apart from soft charging, the latest update also brings along a fresh version of
the Xperia Home launcher, which now includes support for landscape orientation.
One feature we should mention, however, is Android Nougat's app shortcuts: these are available for the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ, though only with a compatible launcher (they don't work with the native
Xperia Home launcher).
There's only one Android manufacturer that's currently experimenting with integrating Google Now into its proprietary launcher: that's Sony, who recently added the feature to a beta version of
its Xperia Home launcher (the feature was removed in a latter update).

These include a Night Light and a
Home Launcher for
Xperia devices.
In addition to giving you the Night Light feature, the latest addition to the Sony
Xperia X Concept brings a new
Home launcher as well as enhancements in network handling.
The Marshmallow release for the
Xperia devices does have the February security patches from Google baked in, the newest
home launcher, improved battery management, Doze mode, and app data permissions.
The HDMI connection also opens the
Xperia ion's TV
launcher, a customizable
home screen carousel of application shortcuts.
