Uki Ogasawara is still a good guest, of course, as a published manga artist and a new comer to the event, but with this being Digital Manga's first year as
Yaoi Con management (and them facing scrutiny over how they'll handle it), I was expecting a more fan - favourite creator to wow the crowds.
Digital Manga has also sent out a press release about signed and framed Makoto Tateno artwork which will be available for sale both at
Yaoi Con and on their online shop, Akadot.
Word has been circulating for a while about Digital Manga's big yaoi title announcement, promising many happy fans, and that they'll be making said - announcement at the upcoming
Yaoi Con.
Boys» love fans have been dealt a double blow by Digital Manga with news that they would be halting all their BL print productions until summer of 2013, and, North America's largest boys» love convention,
Yaoi Con, will be postponed until 2014.
Of course
Yaoi Con 2010 had almost a dozen artistic guests so who knows what else could be announced between now and the convention this October.
This is going to be my first year at
Yaoi Con and I was really hoping for a bigger name guest, notably more akin to previous guests such as Fusanosuke Inariya, Ayano Yamane or Hinako Takanaga.
In regards to
Yaoi Con, I originally thought their big announcement would've been a Makoto Tateno title as well, since she's their guest, but the early announcement of Yellow 2 felt like the largest news they could've had from her.
I'm sad because I've yet to ever actually make it to
Yaoi Con, but based on their guest list and event schedule this year, this looked like the «best» year to have missed anyway.
While Digital Manga can not confirm the licensing of these series, they did let me know that their big
Yaoi Con license announcement is still under wraps and awaiting the eager ears of convention attendees.
And remember boys» love fans still have plenty to look forward to during
Yaoi Con at the end of the month!
From book announcements made at
Yaoi Con, to the state of their imprints, you can read it all under the cut.
It wasn't even all boys» love they announced either, and while that's not in itself a bad thing, this was
Yaoi Con after all.
Along with being the host for this year's
Yaoi Con, Digital Manga Publishing was also present still as publisher with licenses to announce and word of big changes coming to their online digital manga store, eManga.
It's
Yaoi Con this weekend and that means good stuff for boys» love fans!
They also put on
Yaoi Con!
These are «tentatively slated for October 2009» and there will be limited copies available at
Yaoi Con 2009.
I'd like to see 801Media get its update as well — I know they were hoping to have it done before
Yaoi Con this year but some things came up that put them a bit behind.
Edit: Digital Manga has just tonight sent out a press release with more information regarding their Little Butterfly and Yellow omnibus books, including news that they will both be available months early to attendees of
Yaoi Con.

On the eve of this year's
Yaoi Con, Digital Manga has announced a handful of new titles, two of the three boys» love.
More updates on
Yaoi Con to come as information becomes available (aka, it actually happens).
Yaoi Con was held this past weekend and, whether you enjoy BL or not, the news they announced is pretty exciting.
With Digital Manga already having so many of Makoto Tateno's work, and bringing her to
Yaoi Con this year as their guest, I'm sure this won't be the last of her manga series we hear about being licensed either ^ ^
They have some great stuff coming up at the end of summer and in the fall when
Yaoi Con comes around, too.
The internet was surprisingly silent over how
Yaoi Con 2012, the first event held by Digital Manga, went, but the absence of a 2013 show spoke a lot on its own.
