Once the cheerleader for
young earth creationism, I grew fascinated with the
science behind evolutionary theory.

Wait a minute, conservatives are trying to put
creationism and
young earth biblical BS in school

At the time, the majority of the
science faculty espoused
young earth creationism, so I learned about evolution in the context of Christian apologetics courses, with the presupposition that evolution was incompatible with the Christian faith.

young earth creationism (absent of any evolution at all) was a fundamental tenant of the Christian faith and the only truly biblical position... so rather than simply questioning my approach to
