Zelda - inspired titles
over the
years to help fill the gaps between
Zelda games.

Over the
years, I've created the perfect
Zelda game in my mind, although I've never quite been able to put it down on paper.
While Super Mario Odyssey may not have had the same focus The Legend of
Zelda: Breath of the Wild got when at E3 last
year, the old plumber has still proven himself to be a fit with
gamers the world
over as his newest adventure went on to land 3 awards, which includes «Best of Show» for E3.

Over the

the ending in Metal Gear Solid 4... was just something i've never expierence nor felt before after beating a
game... a
game thats been established for
over 20
years... ** spoiler ** seeing bigboss die infront of his son was just full of win even tho it was... to me... the most saddest moment (next to other MGS moments) in video
game that i consider to be an absolute masterpiece i also think

Zelda games, and they carefully balanced old and new elements - Fujibayashi: The dev team had several challenges while developing; worked hard to satisfy
gamers; is happy to see Germany loving it - Takizawa: Artstyle has changed often throughout the series» history; the art team's experience has been applied to the
game, that's why the whole team is very happy about the award - Dohta: The team created lots of fun elements for the players, and the whole technical team is very happy to see Germany loving the
game - Aonuma: «We are honored to accept the price in the name of
over 300 developers who worked hard and passionately on the
game for
years - Everybody: «Vielen Dank!»
However, I'm not here to argue
over which
Zelda is the best one (It's Wind Waker by the way) but how this splintering of the
Zelda fan base represents a large debate in
game design and storytelling, and how the core «feeling» of
Zelda has changed
over the
years.
The Legend of
Zelda series has been around for 28
years now and
over that time, the
game's heroes and villains have been redesigned again and again.
This
Zelda - inspired action RPG still feels as fresh as a daisy, and perhaps that's because developers Cornfox & Bros. and FDG Entertainment have consistently updated the
game over the past two
years adding new features and optimizing for the latest hardware.
There's always more to learn about all the
Zelda games Nintendo released
over the
years.
I've played
games on a variety of platforms
over the
years, and while I'm currently addicted to Scopely's Yahtzee with Buddies and The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, some of my favorite
games and franchises include Monkey Island, The Legend of
Zelda (especially Ocarina of Time), Final Fantasy (FFIV is my favorite), Goldeneye, and John Madden Football (from the original on Genesis all the way to today's mobile version).
While we're not likely to see a new Legend of
Zelda game on the Switch for some while since Breath of the Wild only released a little
over a
year ago, there is a chance that they are either developing a top - down
Zelda game ala A Link to the Past or A Link Between Worlds for the Nintendo Switch or the Nintendo 3DS.
It wasn't the only
Zelda game that was released last
year, as the iconic Majora's Mask 3D also had its debut and according to sales figures published on the 9th of January, 2016 that
game has only made 2.18 million sales worldwide,
over twice the amount of unit sales of Tri Force Heroes, (which also on that date, at the time only had 0.95 million units sold), but in an 11 month period.
Zelda games have been more than plentiful
over the
years for any number of Nintendo consoles and there are die - hard fans of almost all of them.
Twilight Princess has had the biggest map size in a
Zelda game for
years now; that reign is officially
over.
I've read a lot of shocking video
game news
over the
years, but nothing has had me more flummoxed than learning that The Legend of
Zelda: Twilight Princess was very nearly the final Legend of
Zelda game.
Aside from being one of our esteemed Video Games Live conductors, she has also conducted almost every Blizzard Entertainment
game over the past 10
years, composed music for World of Warcraft, was one of the original singers of the original Metal Gear Solid soundtrack AND was personally chosen by Nintendo to record the Legend of
Zelda 25th Anniversary album and concert series!
Also, take in consideration of how many Mario's and
Zelda's Nintendo have put out
over the
years — five more
games actually seems a little less than I would expect.
I think the bigger problem
over Zelda's delay is the lack of WiiU
games left for the
year, what is there?
For
over a
year, YouTube critic Mark Brown has been exploring the dungeons in each Legend of
Zelda game.
Interestingly, Darunia and Ruto are making their first new appearance in a
Zelda game for
over 17
years (the Ocarina remake doesn't count!)
Nintendo launched The Legend of
Zelda: Breath of the Wild just
over a
year ago, and it didn't take long for modders to get the
game running on PC with a Wii U emulator.
Part of that comes from Nintendo themselves having semi-frequent Nintendo Directs throughout the
year to go
over games in more detail; it hasn't really been a problem until now, but between those and The Legend of
Zelda for Wii U being a complete no - show, they left little for the big event to really blow anyone away.

Many
games over the
years have tried to use a gameplay formula from popular
games such as Super Mario Bros., Legend of
Zelda, and Mega Man.
Ever since Nintendo launched the original Legend of
Zelda over 30
years ago, the series has constantly been at the forefront of video
game development, introducing new ideas and pushing technical boundaries.
I don't think this is too likely, but Nintendo have been pushing their
Zelda lore
over the last few
years, so a digitised / interactive version of Hyrule Historia to read alongside the console
games could work.
Over the
years, Monster Hunter has been a title that gives Capcom the excuse to celebrate their other franchises, as well as team up with other
game properties like Nintendo's Metroid, Legend of
Zelda, or Star Fox just to name a few.

over what is believed to be two

year ago, dataminers discovered the
Zelda - themed My Nintendo Picross
game before it was officially announced.
If you've drifted away from the
Zelda series
over the last few
years, or even gaming in general, you'll likely find Breath of the Wild feels like a breath (pun intended) of fresh air in an industry rife with video
games that are incredibly similar.
