release a
mobile version of
Zelda after its
release of Animal Crossing.
Nintendo have already stated they will not be talking about the NX or even their
mobile games as far as this Direct is concerned as they would rather focus on talking about their upcoming Wii U and 3DS games and honestly that is some great news, because it might just mean we can get a North America and Europe
release date for Hyrule Warriors Legends, a
release date for Star Fox and who knows, maybe even the confirmation of both Pokemon Z and Twilight Princess HD and a
release date for both and because I'm such an optimist, maybe Nintendo will namedrop the official name for
Zelda U. Either way, it will be a Nintendo Direct worth watching.

This is a retro JRPG that never got its chance to shine in the West in the same way Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and
Zelda did, because it didn't officially make the journey overseas until 2016 when it was
released on
mobile.
If you're holding out for Nintendo to officially
release old NES games like Super Mario Bros. or The Legend of
Zelda on
mobile phones, be prepared for more disappointment.

It won't be until next year we'll find out for sure what the big N has planned (and we still have the Animal Crossing
mobile game to be
released first), but for the moment there's nothing to suggest
Zelda will prove to be anything other but extremely fertile ground for an interesting new
mobile experience.
