The resource may be differentiated through
pupils working in
ability groups, mixed
ability groups, or
with adult support.
There is a strong element of differentiation for each lesson in order to stretch and challenge the higher
ability pupils, along
with ensuring sufficient level of progress for the lower
ability pupils.
They are known as
Pupil Progress Leaders (PPLs), who move up from one year to the next
with the children, so they understand their
abilities, and the curriculum that needs to be delivered.
This is intended for use
with pupils aged between 10 and 14 years and could be spread over a half term period in hourly chunks depending on
ability.
Or, if they stick
with full - class instruction, they pitch much of their instruction to kids in the middle 60 percent or so of the achievement /
ability / motivation distribution, doing less for
pupils who are either lagging far behind or surging ahead.
For higher
ability pupils you could demand silence and ask for it to be completed at the back of their books as a revision activity, for lower
ability pupils you may allow discussion
with a partner.
There are also three further worksheets
with exercises that could be used as class or homework and will indicate the
pupils»
ability to understand and form this tense.
This project proved to be very engaging -
with pupils producing some thoughtful, creative, individual and skilful pieces (photographs of examples - of differing
abilities - are included in the bundle).

ability and confidence to engage in class discussions.

with the Curiosity Conference because it gives
pupils that attend the opportunity to stretch themselves and talk about something they have a real interest in, all while developing important skills and
abilities that they will need in the future.
More support is needed to ensure these
pupils are given vital additional support
with their learning in order to keep up
with children of similar
ability from more affluent backgrounds.»
