The problem is, pregnancy can lead to a lot of sleep difficulties
including abnormal sleeping patterns and restless leg syndrome, according to SleepMed, a sleep disorder center in Santa Barbara.
To see whether they could establish a link between the circadian clock, sleep, and mood, scientists in the new study looked at the genetics of a family that suffers
from abnormal sleep patterns and mood disorders, including SAD and something called advanced sleep phase, a condition in which people wake earlier and sleep earlier than normal.
«Despite the prevalence
of abnormal sleep patterns in PD, very few studies to date have outlined sleep disturbances in animal models of PD,» says Sarah M. Rothman, PhD, a researcher with the National Institute on Aging, in Baltimore, MD..
Other signs and symptoms include physiologic disturbances, such as in changes in appetite and weight,
abnormal sleep patterns, psychomotor abnormalities, fatigue, and diminished ability to think, as well as feelings of worthlessness or guilt and suicidal preoccupation.
