dogs are subject to the same diseases, structural problems, joint dysplasias, allergies, and genetic
abnormalities as their blue - blooded cousins.
Breeders work with scientists to reduce the incidence of genetic
abnormalities in their breeds, and clubs donate funding for research through the AKC Canine Health Foundation and the Morris Animal Foundation to provide veterinary advances for all
dogs -
purebred and mixed breed.
