about BlackBerry smartphones at CES but that was all about the PlayBook and the tablet scene.

about BlackBerry smartphones historically - the BlackBerry was a communication tool first and foremost, dominant from 9 am to 5 pm, built for people who have stuff to do and need to get it done.
For the last month or so, I've been reading lots of stories
about a Blackberry smartphone running Android.

BlackBerry Ltd. said on Tuesday it will stop making its Classic model, raising further doubts
about the future of the
smartphone pioneer's money - losing handset business as the company shifts its focus to software.
BlackBerry still owns more than 40 % of the North American
smartphone market, and though it continues to show healthy growth in emerging markets, investors worry
about the declining average sale price for its products,
about RIM's failure to make a dent in the consumer marketplace, and
about the growing sense that it no longer offers an enterprise user anything that one of its sexier rivals doesn't do as well or better.
BlackBerry's hope is that it will appeal to the elite
smartphone user that its brand used to own: The affluent, workaholic doer who cares less
about trends and logos than getting things done.
In the meantime, sales of
BlackBerry smartphones have been on the downswing, in part due to uncertainty among enterprise and consumer purchasers
about the company's continued existence.
Amidst deep uncertainty
about its future as a public company,
BlackBerry is launching a new flagship
smartphone.
Last month, François Mahieu from TCL — the exclusive distributors of
Blackberry smartphones — spilt some beans
about the new phone while talking to Engadget.

Especially when you consider that our new entry model
BlackBerry has better specs than what our top of the line
BlackBerry Smartphones had not so long ago (and we were pretty darn excited
about those phones when they came out!).
Considering we've only been using the
smartphone for
about a week, and most
BlackBerry users do hold onto their phones for 2 years and sometimes longer.
What I like
about this design is that it does not have the same square screen as most
Blackberry phones, instead its long and rectangular, something that it has more in common with other higher end
smartphones on the market.
How
about being able to control the PlayBook tablet device using your
BlackBerry smartphone?
RIM is nice and vague
about release dates saying that: «The
BlackBerry Bold 9790 and
BlackBerry Curve 9380
smartphones will begin to be available from various carriers around the world over the coming weeks.»
If you spend a lot of time in WiFi coverage all day, I'd probably go for the Bold 9900 for the keyboard, bigger screen and hotter look, but if you're out and
about a lot and want a nice portable phone that gets through the day with power to spare and still has that Bold badge on it, the 9790 could be the
BlackBerry 7
Smartphone for you.
Normally, as one of the great things
about Android and
BlackBerry Smartphones now running Android, I would say «there are apps for that!»
We're just little under a week away from the start of
BlackBerry World in Orlando, Florida and while we're expecting to hear quite a bit
about the PlayBook but we'd be lying if we didn't say we're just a little bit more excited to hear
about some new
BlackBerry Smartphones.
Almost as soon as the
