We mentioned some of the new features in our post
about Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 2's release date, and now you can see some of them in action thanks to a new promotional movie.
We first heard
about Phantasy Star Nova in September last year, and despite Western fan's initial excitement, it doesn't look like it will be headed to the United States or Europe.
What struck me as weird
about Phantasy Star Online is that many of the races (with the exceptions of Numans), items and locations were lost or never referenced again.
It was all
about Phantasy Star Zero then, and this year we're making the event even bigger — and featuring Valkyria Chronicles II, Phantasy Star Portable II, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 as our big games of the night!
We had really thought that after the never - updated website finally shut down last year we would be done talking
about Phantasy Star Online 2, which at this point is Sega's never - ending routine of dangling a steak in front of American fans before punching them in the throat.
And then one week later, an e-mail arrived in my inbox
about a Phantasy Star cd soundtrack...
All information
about Phantasy Star Online 2 was correct at the time of posting.
Not exact matches
I am tired of hearing the one - way arguments
about the lost income from piracy, which are demonstrably based on
phantasy numbers.
Despite the powerful story, if you've read Part 1 of this review, you probably know why
Phantasy Star II disenchanted me:
about 80 % of the game is grinding.
Graham, Shawn, Lucas and Chris say new things
about old games, like
Phantasy Star, Base Wars and Superman 64.

To that end, we spent a lot of time thinking

about it, but its more to the point that we wanted players to be free to imagine it for themselves.
Development for
Phantasy Star II took
about a year, starting from that contest.
But we did have some ideas as developers, so you do see some events in later games that tie back to
Phantasy Star II: for instance, the statues of the 8 heroes who fought for Algol in the warrior's temple of
Phantasy Star IV, or the town where people know
about the legend of Alis... well, for the details, I'll leave that for you to enjoy when
Phantasy Star IV comes out.
Sega: Once the reviews and sales started coming in for
Phantasy Star, and they were good, we started talking
about making a part II.
Next, I had a cool chat with some guys
about the future of
Phantasy Star and SEGA, and hooked them up with some Rappies once one of them mentioned that he used to skip school just to go play the old
Phantasy Star games on Genesis.
Walking speed can be increased in
Phantasy Star II and
Phantasy Star III to address common complaints
about those games.
In the follow - up episode, we'll talk
about the big games we played, such as
Phantasy Star Online 2 and Gravity Rush moving from Vita to PS4, Star Ocean 5, Metal Gear Online, then give out some arbitrary awards and all that good stuff.
I loved my NES, but I couldn't understand why people weren't screaming from the rooftops
about the greatness that was
Phantasy Star.
Besides playing the games, you can also talk to some some of our community team

Phantasy Star Online for hours on 56k dial - up.
But rather than focusing on the newest installments, and grumbling
about how we still can't play them in the West, let's take a trip back to the Fall of 1988 when SEGA's The Team SEGA Newsletter previewed
Phantasy Star for the Master System.

There really hasn't been any other game that follows this format — Sega's
Phantasy Star III is
about as closest as you can get, but neither the plot nor the characterizations are nearly as fleshed out as they are here.
There's more to look forward to for
Phantasy Star, and there will be more to talk

about it, at that point, theres no telling what possible income that might be... See, if people wanted to, they could buy Arks Cash every month to get the premium services, which would make it seem like a sub fee, but it's not, because it's not required since it is a free to play game (unless you like to have the services all the time).
Aside from the fact that I generally enjoy the chance to write
about a game I've been immersed in for years now,
Phantasy Star Universe has had a nice expansion to available content, not to mention the recent addition to Games on Demand.

We previously talked
about the Gravity Rush 2 costumes that were being added to
Phantasy Star Online 2, and now Sony has revealed the
Phantasy Star Online 2 content that will be included in Gravity Rush 2.
The publisher reports robust sales for
Phantasy Star Online 2 (of course, not in the west, since Sega appears to have completely forgotten
about its promise for a localization), and nearly doubled sales in the packaged game field, mostly thanks to «the strenght» of Persona 5 overseas, that shipped over 1.5 million units cumulatively.
