It's been
about 2 years with my
white brighter
kitchen and although I still love it I do have some pro's and con's on painting
cabinets white.

I've been itching to update our boring blonde oak
kitchen cabinets, but after painting some reclaimed
cabinets white for the laundry room, I got disheartened with the finished look and have been hemming and hawing
about starting in the
kitchen.
I've had a lot of people email
about and comment on my black
kitchen cabinets.I always considered myself more of a
white cabinet kind of girl.But when I learned (the hard way) that polyurethane painted on top of
white paint, turns yellow... I knew I would never be happy with the durability level un-polyed

Yes, I know, usually I talk more
about white kitchens and
white cabinets.
She was
about to go through the expense of painting the
kitchen white but Maria told her that she didn't have to repaint her cream
cabinets, they are pretty as they are, which saved her a big and costly job.
One of the things I was most excited
about in choosing a simple neutral color scheme for my

I can't tell you how much grief, the contractor, spouse, trim installer, tile installer,
cabinet maker, gave me
about that
white kitchen!
If you have paid attention, black
kitchens have been seen in many interior magazines lately, but we are not talking
about the old black
kitchens, and we are certainly not talking
about just any dark color for
kitchen cabinets, we're talking
about a moody dark grey, almost black, which creates a beautiful contrast when combined with
white subway tile backsplash with a light grey grout,
white countertop, brass accents and shiplap.
My hubby and i built a new house
about 5 years ago and we put in these beautiful wood shaker
cabinets but I just am dying for a
white kitchen and my hubby will NOT let me paint them.
I've been struggling
about what to do with my

white is too much
white.
I love the colors you chose for your
kitchen cabinets — we painted ours
white about 2 yrs ago but now I think i need a change... at least for the lowers (we have a toddler now too and the
white lowers never look clean anymore = /) Very pretty home!
My
kitchen cabinets look similar to this and I think I've almost mustered up the courage to paint them... Our countertops are also
about that same color, so I'm glad to see that the
white cabinets still look OK with it.
