When domestic violence exists, the abusive partner may go to extremes, telling lies to their children
about the other parent, making the children believe the other parent is crazy, and in extreme
cases cause parental
alienation syndrome.
When one considers that arguing attorneys and family law judges typically learn
about Parental
Alienation via arguments, examinations and cross examinations in court, it should not be surprising that such understandings are usually limited to the facts of a particular
case, and are not necessarily characteristic of specific knowledge acquisition.

cases that come to me because of my expertise in «parental
alienation» it turns out that the targeted parent who is alleging «parental
alienation» actually turns out to be the narcissistic parent who is externalizing blame and responsibility for the child's reluctance to be with the narcissistic parent onto the other parent by alleging «parental
alienation» because the narcissistic targeted parent feels «entitled» to possess the child.
In my experience and that of other targeted parents I would argue that judges suffer from a clear
case of professional tribalism when confronted or challenged
about their distinct lack of knowledge of parental
alienation.
In some
cases favored parents accept trivial complaints as sufficient explanation for the child's
alienation either because they do not think objectively
about their ex-spouse or because they welcome their child's negative attitudes toward the ex-spouse.
There is a growing body of
case law on parental
alienation that shows that the courts are becoming ever more sophisticated
about how to deal with the problem.
I have a severe
case of parental
alienation and have not been able to get anything done
about it with court hearings.
