I have a question
about bedroom closets.

As the guy showed up at the house for the first date, this dad went to get his daughter, only to find her in her
bedroom closet in tears, with anxieties
about the date, the guy and how to manage her conflicting emotions.
The travel plans are all set and your
bedroom looks like your
closet just exploded, clothing, shoes and baubles are scattered
about everywhere.
This is my plan of action lately, when getting dressed in the morning, because I noticed — with having three different wardrobes: one in my
bedroom, one in my office, plus an office rack with my latest purchases — I'm literally forgetting
about everything that's in my
closets, which is of course too big of a shame, because most of it I still love.
Our
bedroom had an expansive
closet that made me depressed
about my own tiny living situation (damn you, NYC), a private bathroom with a waterfall shower, and a lovely balcony overlooking the city of Cuenca.
I had been thinking
about what kind of hook I might find or create to hang our bikes in our
closet as they were taking up a lot of space in our 1
bedroom place.
People care mostly
about kitchens, bathrooms, and
bedrooms... If you call it a
bedroom, it must legally have a
closet.

But the
closet is something I can do (and I know it won't take long, its just a matter of getting around to it — I spend so little time in my
bedroom during the day, I don't even think
about it most of the time).
Love the
closet work space wish we had the folding doors now instead of a smaller one I need a work space... I recently re did our guest room for when my parents came... these pics are horrible and I have been meaning to take some for my blog but I wanted a fun guest

When we built out the master
closet last year, it allowed us to open up our master
bedroom to where the old
closet had been, which then allowed us to bump out this bathroom wall
about 36 ″ and not end up making the master
bedroom look too small.
Since I just started blogging I am trying to find a permanent office space besides the couch or kitchen table (obviously not working for me...) I've been thinking
about trying to convert the spare
bedroom closet.

Well, we're fiiiiinally done re-doing our master
bedroom closet doors, and I'm happy to report we're pretty stoked
about how they all turned out.

We're in a tiny two
bedroom, one bath apartment with only two tiny
closets and I just feel... well cramped on a good day and concerned
about how guests would feel.
I had to trim off
about 1/4 ″ from my doors on the top and bottom (for my
bedroom closet) and it didn't cause any imperfections.
There was a perfect spot next to the dining table to put our dog's extra large crate, and it fit just right.There was a vacuum in the
closet, and we used it to try and keep up with our dog's hair.She is a golden retriever, and we thought she was molting!Hair everywhere and we kept
bedroom doors closed, but we did our best to stay on top of it.She behaved like a pampered princess, and she wasn't crazy
about the heat and the humidity.One evening we sat out on the porch with her, enjoying the evening in the rocking chairs, and when we came inside the BRB she collapsed on the floor inside and sighed.She apparently was thankful for the central air conditioning!For that reason, I think we will leave her with one of our daughters the next time we visit and stay with the Mermaids.The BRB is located in a quiet neighborhood which was perfect for us.Even better, it is located around the corner from AJ's Dockside Restaurant.Good food and perfect outdoor views of the sunset and the marsh from the outside tables.For those dinners when you would like to eat in, there is a grill in the backyard with a cover, and we used it multiple times.We had an excellent experience with the Mermaids, and we will most definitely stay with the Mermaids when we visit Tybee Island again.
And while we are all offering free advice, what
about taking the
closet out of the office to add more space on that side and putting a
closet for your son's
bedroom bumping into the office, then the
bedroom closet and the storage wall at the end of your present kitchen could be a second bathroom on the main floor.
