Cut the
beets and potatoes in half so they are
about the same thickness
as the carrots and parsnips.
You are of course technically right, but I was talking
about what most people think of
as sugar, ie cane or
beet sugar.
Dark green leaves,
about 2 cups, such
as dandelion, arugula,
beet, baby spinach 1/2 cup Kerrygold Dubliner cheese, crumbled, 3/4 - inch pieces
Add the 2 cups of chopped
beets and
about 1/4 cup water, cover and let steam until all of the water has cooked off and the

As I slurped down this clean, antioxidant rich, detoxifying
Beet and Carrot Smoothie, I thought
about all those free radicals being shut down.
Important note
about my view on carbohydrates: In general, I find that dense sources of whole food carbohydrates such
as sweet potatoes, purple and new potatoes,
beets, all types of squash, cooked carrots, legumes (when tolerated well), boiled yucca, fresh fruit, etc. are wonderful sources of nutrition when eaten in the correct portions!
Not sure
about the red
beet juice powder in the 2nd option — perhaps its just used
as coloring — which would mean its a little bit added?The Skratch looks okay.
However, when Cruchies reached out to me
about their product and listed
beets as one of the options, I knew I had to jump at that chance!!
Along with Lindsay's comment
about the
beet powder and buying it — does it have the same nutrients
as beets or is it more for color?
In his book
about the journey, he describes the «sleepy little coast village of Hueneme»
as a «ghost of a once flourishing town» due to the establishment of a
beet sugar factory.
Specifically there is now more monitoring for the ZEBRA error, which seems to be getting fixed
