What, then, do we say
about the Biblical accounts of miracles?
Jesus keeps it simple plus we can avoid judgments and speculation
about biblical accounts of war, slavery etc. that related to a specific nomadic tribal people or at a minimum require taking into account a people, time and place some say never existed.

about the Creator - God, because many of them reject the

We need such an
account in order to prevent the breakdown of realism — doctrines are truth claims
about objective realities — from leaving us unsure that the
biblical narrative provides the datum of faith.
You can not just blindly swallow what
biblical scholars say
about how the
accounts in the Torah were written.
If we hold fast to the
biblical witness that God does care for us, individually as well as corporately, what must we infer
about God and the world that would
account for the fact that petitionary prayer sometimes seems futile?
As far as evidence goes, he was written
about in multiple
biblical sources, which obviously you won't take into
account because you believe the bible to be fantasy, but when you think
about how all
biblical books were written at different times, in different places, by different people, you can at least say there is a decent chance he lived.
Only when the great minds were liberated from the
biblical accounts of creation and the controls and censures of ecclesiastical authorities were they able to make a qualitative leap in scientific progress, bringing
about the un-fettered birth of modern science.
My experiences with raising questions
about religious pluralism, heaven and hell,
biblical inerrancy, and the creation
account have not been pleasant ones to say the least.
Catholics have not used the language of primordiurn much because they see
biblical history within the tradition and the tradition within history, but the conservatives are often primitive in their views
about origins of episcopacy and papacy, and contemporary moderates often try to settle things by going back to
biblical accounts of early ministry and communal life.
Of course the
Biblical account gives us the information
about who is on the other end of the cord, but if we were to imagine a bit... what (or who) might be on the other end of a cord being held by a courageous, outspoken, compassionate, fierce fighter such as Rahab in today's world?
If this claim is true, the
biblical account of a young earth (
about 6,000 years) is in question, since 14C dates of tens of thousands of years are.
