blurb or back cover copy, where your writing will pull them in.

about blurbing the latest
book of their guests.
A great cover does this quickly in a way that your
blurb, the story, and everything else

book can not.

about as exciting as cooking recipes.

But then I read David Sedaris's cover
blurb — mostly because I thought it was strange for David Sedaris to be

book about dangerous animals:

Let's say you've written a blog and want to send out a tweet to announce it events, send out short

blurbs or reviews, you could consider putting strong quotes directly from your
book on your shelf talker to highlight the writing / story or you could include fun facts
about the
book.

My only caveat: the

about the quality of the

It had a picture of the cover, the back - cover
blurb, simple links to a couple of articles I'd written
about the
book, and I was going to add a «buy» link down the bottom, once it was published.
7... Do not change anything
about a
book, the cover, the
blurbs, nothing.
So from a
book she read months and months before, in a hurry, she writes a sales
blurb from what she can remember
about the plot and a few notes she has.
I tinkered with
blurbs and keywords and
book covers, relentlessly trying everything other authors were talking
about in order to get my
book into the hands of readers who might enjoy it.
This is Leckie's follow - up to Ancillary Justice, the novel that won just
about every major science fiction fantasy award in the last year — the Hugo, the Nebula, the Clarke and more — and established Leckie as one of the best new voices in the genre (and also made me look super smart for
blurbing the
book).
Your
book Blurb is like a dedicated sales person, standing outside the door of your store, ready to tell any passer - by the most exciting, intriguing and fascinating things
about your
book...
If they wrote a great
book with a great cover and a great active
blurb, and get it out there, readers will slowly find it and if the
book is worth talking
about, the readers will start passing the word and the
book will gain speed in sales.

The cover
blurb process is for another blog or even a workshop, but I have a few observations
about book covers.
You should also include an enticing paragraph of
blurb «selling» your
book, a bit
about yourself and any writing credits you have (such as published short stories), and something on your «platform» — i.e. your existing (online) audience, if you have one.
For fiction, you can include information
about your
book along with the
blurb.
