about book marketing at all, ever, let alone when they're in the middle of writing.

I would think the great thing
about a
book on spirituality would be that you have a built - in
market: you can offer to give talks
about your
book's subject
at all the churches, temples (whichever place of worship would be appropriate for you) in your surrounding area.
For me, I think distribution and sales would be too difficult, particularly considering I want to reach the schools
market, and I already know how they work, which is hard for me to access (while not actually «self - publishing» before I was responsible for placing a
book about how to become a policewoman in Australia into educational outlets
at secondary and tertiary levels and it was not only hard work but incredibly time and money consuming too, so if someone can do that side for me
at a reasonable cost, I'd always prefer it.)
Right now, she's releasing a new edition of How to
Market a
Book, so we asked her for her advice on long - term vs. short - term strategies, selling internationally as well as
at home, and whether it's worth worrying
about translations and foreign rights as an indie.
I regularly receive e-mails from Kobo

books exploded in sales was that readers were buying electronic
books in place of mass
market paperbacks, the pocket - sized
books that sold around $ 7.99.

market our

market instead of looking
at the potential
market (just
about 100 %).
Early attempts
at social reading focused on the sharing of insight and ideas
about the text, something that was perfect for the academic
market since it allowed students and professors to make comments within a user's
book, much like margin notes.
Davis spoke
at length
about the challenge and power of social media as a vital tool for
marketing and promotion, and outlined the level of work that goes into selling one's
book.
One aspect of digital publishing that Lynch spoke
at length
about is the need for more awareness of cultural and geographical implications before advances can be made in some of the underrepresented
book markets.
