When you mentioned how a turtleneck under a dress made you feel like a little kid, I was thinking that that was basically exactly how I felt
about the concept of
wearing a shirt under a dress, period, but this makes a shirt under a dress look like a MUCH more reasonable, non-kindergarten option for
cold weather.
I have been
wearing professionals for
about 15 years, they are the only thing that goes on my feet when the
weather turns
cold!
The
cold weather is getting to be a bit of a drag, but on the other hand, if I'm inside I can
wear whatever I feel like, without having to worry
about layers and toques and scarves... So, when planning what to
wear for Valentine's day - I decided to ignore the fact that it is still Winter, and as a result this outfit is quite Springlike.
In anticipation of the winter storm that is supposedly descending on the northeast tonight, I thought it would be fitting to reminisce
about my favorite
cold -
weather outfits I
wore last year.
The thing that I love
about the
cold weather is being able to
wear winter clothes and layering up.
Let's begin by talking
about this end - of - summer
weather which allows us to
wear thinner knits that might be too
cold for later this year, but perfect for now and at least in the next 2 months.
One thing that I do love
about the
cold weather are the fur coats I get to
wear.
There is only one bad aspect
about the slight change in the
weather namely the fact that it is getting harder to
wear my beloved blouses in these
colder seasons.
You don't have to worry
about nylons, that the skirt will raise when you sit down and show more of your legs than you would like, they are much warmer on
cold weather, plus you don't have to
wear heels unless you want it because everyone knows that a skirt without heels is dull.
One of the things we both love so much
about winter style for men and women is that it lets us
wear cozy, casual
cold weather outfits and mix in some fun, not - so - typical winter colors that brighten up the mood while keeping us bundled up.

Really it just wants to be old and it isn't so you see those of us from New England just traveling around the world, shaking off those chains of the sharp quickening
weather and that sad desire to be classy or old usually betrayed by our quaint speech — wicked or our loafers, or deliberately well -
worn clothes in New England's endless imitation of «real» which is a copy of those who we think know
about something older — we think they own stuff, Harvard and the Swan Boats and that Swan Boat accident and all that
cold weather food.
