The draft is
about getting the best player for the next 5 years... not «what can you do for me this year»....
its also not always
about getting all your best players on the field.
Not exact matches
And some of the
players to watch out for are the same big guys from 10 or 20 years ago (Microsoft, Oracle, AT&T, etc.) who are the long - entrenched stakeholders and «powers - who - be» in your space — not because they're great innovators or disruptors, but because: (a) they're increasingly
well - informed
about who's doing what very
well (damn those demo days); (b) they're fairly fast followers with great gobs of money; and (c) they have the people, resources, and patience to hang around and keep buying and trying until they eventually
get things right in the long run.
They also believed that because the big
players were
getting excited
about their space, they would probably
get the
best valuation now.
You may have something on your agenda to
get done, but you'd
better be listing to all the key
players &
getting their input
about HOW to make it happen.
Moneyball could have easily been
about how teams
get young
players for six years before they have to pay them, so you'd
better figure out how to
get young
players.
I simply don't like Garrett at this point and can't see how he's gonna
get too much
better but I had my doubts
about Many
players in the past... sometimes correctly and sometimes not do much.
I don't really know enough
about the
player but I hope he has a
good head on his shoulders and works hard, from what I have read
about Campbell makes me glad he is on his way out, non of his loan coaches have had much
good to say
about him and he keeps
getting dropped.
I'm not so sure alexia is injured looks like 80 million quid from psg is the business
get him off to France I think we have enough to sustain the challenge till January transfer window where we can target
players towards the end of their contract like kolasnic because with these crazy prices God help us, I'm feeling
good about the new season for some strange reason, come on YU goooooners!!!!!
What I do care
about though is Arsenal and we need some board members and «powers» that understand the sport and not just the business side, I do not want our next manager to be an accountant because they understand profit... I want a manager who understands tactics and how to
get the
best out of
players and can attract big names.
Ive been supporting Arsenal for 65 years to say im dissapointed,
well words fail me Why did we let the window slip by and not do the business in the begining
get in quick and
get our
players signed and out as
well but NO we buggered
about with the DREAMER for 6 weeks dithering with expensive so called talent and what we
get another Frenchman, soon we will be able to say we have the whole french international team here The way to go is to boycott the home games and make it known the fans run the club not the useless manager or the lackluster board who do nt know who plays for us and are not interested in football per say just the money Buy Kroenke out and let him go as
well
So I thought I would have a quick look at the evidence and see if there was support for what Mikel Arteta said to Arsenal
Player about the Gunners seeming to be punished for every little mistake and not
getting rewarded for the things we have done
well.
What's this i see here. This site is also in a crisis and that is understating the qualities of our players.I for one will take Walcott over Pedro and i am just responding to a question.I just do nt
get it.To me Walcott really is that
good and we need him inform.Injuries have hampered his progress a lot as a
player but at least i am happy with him.I do not even
get why peeps criticize him so badly. To me he should be our starting right winger. We need him because he is a game changer.I just do nt
get how he is on the bench.Peeps are so ignorant and will gather whatever facts they can to make him seem average.Talk
about the certain 3 musketeers in arsenal lineup but not him.He is a very dangerous
player
the guy loves this type of
players remember what he said
about ozil a while back» if you love football you love ozil» im not worried
about it i think that as soon as we sign alexia & ozil santi will be the next one in line in
getting a new improved contract i, d like to think that if
well managed if you could play for us for another 3 years at least look at tr7 injuries were his problem otherwise he still had the quality to play for us in his last years!
I have given up on Arsene since 2008 I love him but I think he has lost the plot, the most annoying thing
about him is his thinking of our
player is
better than our opponent no matter who we are playing which is a rung mentality because it obvious sometime we are not still not change his tactics for us to
get something out of the game.
I
get your point
about on speaking
well of behalf of your mates but to say the things Ramsey says you've
got to be either the
best player, the captain or the manager, Ramsey's none of these.
Examples are all there, Manure and Tottenham spent big and did not improve, and on the other hand Chelsea did spend and that won them the league (Matic, Fab, and Costa)... It is always positive to bring
better players and then it is
about how you utilize them and
get the
best out of them...
the same is true
about your statement.we all know most of the top teams bar juventus play either4 -3-3 or 4 -2-3-1, which are very similar. We know that Wenger isn't a tactical wizard and hes very cautious, so why would he change formation?the only reason i can see would be to accommodate
players who might not
get into the team i.e Ramsey on the wing.Which is not a
good idea
We may all as
well Get used to falling down the table The owner doesn't care, if he doesn't give a shot
about clubs in his own country he won't give a sh # t
about Arsenal There's only 3 ways of attracting BIG
players to your club Champions League NO offer them silly money Nope that's not happening Or a Top manage errr
Questions
about progress on messi's new contract, lack of big signings to excite the fans, signings not done
well last winter,
getting used to signing
players at medium cost and were you limited by money.
This is simple a very intelligent child can solve this problem.Firstly today our keeper was very poor however i know he will come
good.By the way why is Paulista no
getting his chance. What i have observed
about arsenal since we signed Mertesacker from day one and since he started playing is that Mertesacker hardly
gets involved you will usually see him a few times because he does not want to
get caught out.e has always been a weak link in the defence even in his greatest performances here. When i see us playing with a high line and he is there i always laugh. It is just a mistake waiting to happen and i can tell u that it will happen again this season.Secondly why is Ramsey Cazorla and Ozil playing in the same line - up in a 4 -5-1 formation. That is just not right though it will win you some matches due to individual brilliance. It wont work at all.Lastly the least i say
about Giroud the
better i am not judging him on one game. One would imagine if he was not french and like chinese will he be
getting these chances under Wenger. To me he will always be an average
player and i will stand by my word even if he has
good games.
but, im ok with this vardy transfer... it shows us many things: 1) wenger is changing, something some of us have been demanding for a long time; 2) it shows that wenger is taking risks: think
about it, he is buying a men for a not cheap price, knowing he could not
getting anything after, with a future sell i mean... this is an act that shows wengers intentions to win something, the buy is not motivated by any financial or economic reason but only for a «
get the f epl once again» reason... this is an act that shows us hungry, even if we fail, we could said we try... first ever, we really try; 3) finally but very important... vardy is the kind of
player we need... he is a warrior, a fighter... he has character... look at how he celebrate his goals... full of energy... he, like alexis, can motivate the team when the things are not going in our way (something wenger cant do because of his age and because he has never been an active coach on the pitch)... the vardy transfer, if it finish
well, is a demostration of a change, and a
good one... lets take care of winning things and do nt look the economic side for once... vardy is a bit old, but we can give a chance to welbeck after maybe, or akpom... u are not thinking
about the future when we talk
about ibra... guys: u complain when wenger do nt spend or because he is always looking for the bargain when u are the guys who has to pay the very expensive tickets... u complain when wenger buy the always for the future guy... like morata... stop to complain for everything and be consequent with yourself... i would love auba, but it is not going to happen... lukaku is awesome but the asking price is stupid... lets try with vardy, give us the throphy..
Remember the times our entire 23 man squad would all be called up on international break, then
about 8 of them would return with injuries and knocks and our team would have to suffer?I am so excited
about the fact that it is no longer the case and our
players should be
getting a
good rest.
Maybe this just shows that Mourinho is a feisty character who did not
get on with this
player, but we have seen a lot of this sort of thing and we have also heard a lot
about how
well Wenger's
players respect him.
And Wenger must be impressed
about how
well the 22 - year old has been doing in his loan spells with a number of different Spanish clubs, most recently a full season in La Liga with Almeria, because ESPN are reporting that Arsenal have begun talks with the promising young
player, with the intention to
get him to sign a new contract extension, with just a year left to run on his current deal.
i completely agree with you, he should spend one more season with Roma and then come back to us, we would be
getting a
better & more experienced Szczesny and should keep Ospina until then even though this would be a bit harsh on him we have to remember that we, re talking
about professional
players with contracts also it is time for wenger to stop being too sentimental with
players!!
I never put the
getting results part into question. But the fact that he's our
player and I ike him doesn't mean I'll lie
about him.I wouldn't also say he's been
better in every single season but just that he's adapted more quickly. As for you picking talent over hardwork that's your opininon. After all it's not like Hazard is lazy though Sanchez works harder than him.
we again need
about three world class
players and in my opinion that includes a genuine Iron man DM with intelligence as
well as muscle, a genuine world class 30 goal a season striker, the likes of which will turn a game around when its looking bad, and with the fall of Santi Cazorla looking ever more imminant we also now need a genuine creative midfielder (why did nt Wenger
get Cesc when he was an option?)
It's the culture at the club and it starts with the owner... you
got to held people accountable & be
about winning not
about turning around profit (which by the way if you win
gets bigger as you attract more commercial deals & bigger
players that wants to win / play for the
best)!!
For that kind of money you'll be
getting far more talented
players. If you watch a lot of football you'll know this.He has age mates that are
better than him but their not yet being talked
about because some are in average teams and others are yet to be given a proper stage. Also, Monaco never wanted to sell Mbappe and Lemar this season. If Arsenal were interested in any other
players we would have
gotten them long ago. They might have even demanded more than # 80 if many clubs were interested and honestly speaking can you blame them?Is he the only talented winger that Arsenal are looking at?We have to spend money wisely and this ain't wise business.
Ozil — obviously this
player has some superior skills but his posturing is hard to swallow when things aren't going
well... love his link up play with Sanchez, so just imagine if Wenger gave a shit
about the Striker or right forward positions... I feel a bit for him because he was liekwise given promises
about our direction and they never materialized; that being said he needs to grow up sometimes and find a way to handle the pressure a little
better... I wouldn't
get carried away
about locking him into a much higher wage for any length of time if we aren't planning to properly revamp the current club
The
players should only be worried
about themselves and how to
get better.
No we hv a very
good U21 side, most of our
players are 16/17 year old and they play against 21 - 25 year old lads, so they are actually punching
about their weight, so by the time they
get to their 20s, they will either be loaned out, or given time in the first team for experience.
Sorry but I'm
getting a little tired of the excuses, if we are serious
about competing on the field then we have to compete on it by going after the
best players and not waiting to see what other teams do so we can bid on the leftovers and cast offs.
I hate it when Jack and Rambo play together, they just
get in2 each ohters way and 1 will play sh*t, excited
about Ox starting, I've always felt he was 1 of our
best players and Welbeck will score 1 today.3 - 1 to the Gunners COYG!!!!!!!
Covington is probably a
better and overall
better player than both Fultz and Saric, which opens up another part of «the process...» I say this all the time, but people tend to reduce the process to just tanking (which was obviously a crucial part), but it was really
about stacking assets to increase the probability of
getting a star.
Throw in Syracuse's passing game and UConn's defense (led by the
best player you should probably have heard of by now, sophomore linebacker Yawin Smallwood), and you've
got quite a few things to like
about Big East football, especially considering it just lost its conference champion (West Virginia) and a seemingly elite prospective member (TCU) to the Big 12.
Have to agree with the assessment of concentrating on the league as winning it would be a great step for confidence for a
good go at the UCL next season but can we
get that winning mentality under Wenger is questions that will be thrown
about constantly until he does, wouldve had a
better chance if we had added the 2/3
players summer past there would we not?
off topic: looking at Leicester this season compared to last year, except for
about 4 new
players that Ranieri bought they have a similar squad, i could be wrong but Nigel Pearson, s great escape doesn, t look like such a big achievement now, did his team not perform?did he mismanage it?is he not as
good a manager as we thought or is Ranieri really that
good for making it look so easy and
get the credit???
What I really like
about where the Stars are at is that there is a
good foundation in place that just needs a couple of really
good pieces to elevate them to that next level by
getting players in the right positions to be successful.
Let see if Podolski will continue being not
well over the next couple months, it most occasions
players seem to start
getting ill when they are
about to leave a team, i really do not see a future for him at arsenal anymore and if he can not lift his game i think it will also be the end of his germany time.
Now as
well as being important in
getting the Arsenal first team
players ready for action, this period could be crucial for some members of the squad who are on the fringe and who the manager may be thinking
about letting go, but which of the Arsenal
players are most in need of a strong showing in pre-season to secure their futures with Arsenal?
«All is forgiven Arsene, and to show you I forgive you, I'm going to let you have one of my
best players for # 60 Million only» He can keep Martial, I'm more concerned
about getting rid of Wenger.
If I was a
player I would just straight up be hawking KY jelly just to
get some really exellent reactions from the radio guys who would probly try to talk
about how they use it all the time just to
get on my
good side, and then Id say «oh yeah?
We're NOT linked now with anyone else and that's a worrying thing in itself, I personally really don't think Walcott is
good enough to play that striker role and I know I'll
get roundly «thumbed down» for this but its how I feel
about the boy he's
good but NOT as
good as he thinks he is and it annoys me that theres a possibility that all the toing and froing around his contract may be stopping us from signing a top notch striker (and I DO NT think Martinez is this) I do feel that AW will opt for the cheap and second rate options again and this will also include not buying a striker and putting Walcott in this role, meanwhile all our rivals will be putting strong established
players into the positions where they need to bull up their squads we are not
well known for doing this and its not going to happen now, which is infuriating as this is the right time to break that mould and go for it!!
We all complain
about Ramsey because he gives the ball away, loss too many passes, he doesn't have the same hunger and drive like Sanchez to
get things right in his game, so we focus on his flaws, regardless he's a
good player, he just needs to keep his game simple and do the right things more often.
i think this comeback boost the confidence we have to accept that we do nt
get the 50 % of decisions and move on lets not think
about the refs all
players run their sucks off and i think they were much much
better than both Wansea and Manu games
Frankly i think too many on this site know shite
about how to
get a team to play
well together... you may know your football and «world class»
players by name but certainly not
about teams and team cohesion and belief (in your team mate and the team potential).
Il know I will
get thumbs down but anyone think Ramsey Wiltshire Flamini Arteta Cozorla Ozil Chaimbo Are
better than Fab, we could of had him but wenger said we don't need him, yes we do we need him and
about 8 other
players
The fewer
players get suspended, the
better it is for every team, and the less time we have to spend talking
about whether or not a
player really «
gets it» because they
got caught
getting high.
