Most people are usually well aware of the fact that having a high - quality, well - written resume is the best way you can go
about getting the job of your dreams.
Not exact matches
It's almost as if we have some sort
of control over our lives when we hear
about someone who
got tired
of the grind and left it all to find success in the
job of their
dreams.
For a certain kind
of person (i.e., the hermetic kind), blogging is a true
dream job: You
get to write
about your passions, test out new products / recipes / lifehacks (or whatever your specialty is), and earn money through advertising or by earning sponsorships from companies in exchange for reviews — all without ever needing to
get out
of bed.
Some people have always had the same passion since childhood, but many
of us are just focusing on
getting through each day and are too exhausted to think
about a
dream job.
We somehow
got on the topic
of dream jobs now that we've all been working in the real world for
about a decade, and I wasn't surprised to hear that we all had visions
of creative and passionate careers that gave us the freedom to travel and explore regularly.
Since
getting laid off from (one
of) my
dream job in late June (I wrote more
about how I
got this
dream job here), I've been in a transitional slump, you could say.
I have a sad reality to confess (especially to any younguns out there who
dream of becoming a marine biologist so they can spend their days sunbathing and swimming with dolphins): Although I hate to rain on the Awesome
Job Fantasy Parade, most
of the time we sad seafarers are in the lab looking down a microscope at once beach - dwelling things, or writing papers
about that one time last year we
got to go to the beach and do field work, or we're writing grants to fund the time we want to go to the beach next year.

Gone are the days
of high - school kids working summer
jobs to
get the brand - new muscle car they
dreamed about.
Sometimes I think it's
about all the amazing travel I
get to do because
of my
job, but then someone will tell me how we inspired them to follow their travel
dreams and their lives have been so amazing because
of it, and I'm touched beyond words.
The real analysis you need to undertake is not really
about the
job you have, but
about whether you will find yourself at the end
of your life cursing your failure to go
get (or create) your
dream job.
I'm
about to lose my current
job but I
got an interview for the
job of my
dreams — they can't move the date!
Stop thinking
about landing the
job of your
dreams and start writing a resume that will
get you there!
Even if the opportunity you're waiting to hear
about is your
dream job, if you sit around and wait for the company to
get back to you, it's like watching a pot
of water come to a boil.
