Wendy Myers: Well, why don't you tell the listeners a little bit
about yourself and how you found ketogenic
diets that are also referred to as «low
carb /
high fat»
diets?
She's got eight cookbooks and she has a new book out called Keto Adapted and I wanted to talk to her today
about the health implications and the diseases that can be reversed with a ketogenic
diet, also referred to as «low
carb /
high fat»
diets.
My husband and I adopted a low
carb /
high fat / moderate protein
diet about a year and a half ago.
While the men in the low -
carb study weren't forced to restrict calories like those in the
high -
carb one, the daily calories consumed on both
diets ended up being
about equal — 1,560.
Usually, I'll read one of these new nutrition and
diet plan books, and they're full of all kinds of crap
about needing to eat «low - fat», or «low -
carb», or some other low or
high something.
I recently discovered that the Paleo type
diet,
high fat, low
carb helps him, but I'm confused
about protein sources.
They discuss
about the different
diets like the Keto and whether to go low
carb or
high carb.
This is what a lot of people complain
about different
diets such as low
carb diet, ketogenic, intermittent fasting,
high - protein
diet, and the vegan
diet.
There's so much confusion these days
about what a healthy
diet that promotes fat loss really is... after all, we are bombarded by conflicting messages in the media
about what is healthy and what is not, and you have all of these gimmicky
diet books
about low
carb, low fat,
high protein, vegetarian, fasting, atkins, south beach, liquid
diets, and hundreds more.
And finally, I answer a couple questions
about cutting
diets (those traditionally low - fat, low -
carb,
high - protein
diets) and if they can be adapted to a primal way of eating.
Dave Asprey: I couldn't even count that
high, but what made me think of that is that you're talking
about what beer does, and on the Bulletproof
diet I mean in the roadmap there is bulletproof foods that decrease information,

about any research on any of this, I just listened to my body and I noticed that when I ate a lot of

high fat, which according to the course I was doing was not good for my health — which did confuse me as I had never felt better in my life.
