It seems like every food or health blog I read these days is talking
about kale chips.
I'm laughing as write this post because if anyone had told me I would be
writing about kale I wouldn't have believed it.
Some days, you might be
all about a kale salad, whereas the next day, nothing short of a burger will cut it.
Never in a million years did I think I would get
excited about kale or about a salad for the matter.
Many people have been
blogging about kale chips, so we figured why not try making chips from chard too?
After reading yet another blog
post about kale chips I decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about.
By now, you've likely
heard about kale and all of the health benefits this dark green veggie has to offer.
If you're even
thinking about your kale intake, I can guarantee you that you're automatically more health - conscious than the vast majority of the population.
And to those who are
nervous about kale: I actually find it very sweet (like spinach) when cooked with other sweet vegetables (like zucchini, sweet potatoes).
I
learned about kale (we have had it several times since we were there) and green smoothies and just had a wonderful experience cooking together.
And there is nothing inherently «good»
about a kale salad or «bad» about a chocolate brownie.
There's a lot to
say about kale and its incredible health powers, but the things that I always need to underline are its unique nutritional profile and its the way it lowers the risk for cancer.
But... not all of my clients get as exited
about kale as I do, mainly because they are unsure how to prepare it and use it in recipes.

Kale is tasty when sautéed with some garlic, but I've been hearing so
much about kale chips, that I had to try for myself.
:) and if u do want a myriad other ways to cook greens which take less than 40 minutes, keep well and yet taste like you have spent half the day in the kitchen (i do nt
know about kale, but spinach and chard definitely, we can write to each other 1:1) as a bonus, most of the recipes are vegan too!
A little
story about kale: in early November, I'm at a chain restaurant with my son, my sister and her daughter.
I recently wrote
about kale on The Sweet Beet and am so thrilled to see this veg finally getting all the attention it deserves:)
And I hope that after all of my gushing over this recipe you may have had a change of
heart about kale salads.
It is kind of his fault though... After the Christmas holidays, Matt came home from Colorado
raving about kale salad.
For example, if a publisher just published a book 101 Ways to Cook Kale, then your
book about kale probably won't be accepted by that publisher.
But after I whipped up a batch and served it to Justin, he confirmed to me that he wouldn't have known it was kale (and he is not someone who gets
excited about kale, by the way).
It would be weird if one day I wrote about a decadent, butter and sugar filled Nutella cake and the next day I
blogged about kale salad — it sends mixed messages of what you're all about and you won't necessarily connect with your target audience as you're not totally catering to anyone's needs.
