It was uncanny to hear him when he was talking
about lengthening the school day or getting the best people into teaching or preK education, he was making the same arguments in almost the same language that we'd been making.
Part of what's key
about this new project, however, is not just
lengthening the
school day or year, but doing it in innovative ways that could reshape the structure of the
school day, and how teachers and students think
about learning.
