As we consider redefining the L&D organization to
meet the
needs of the modern
learner, we should be thinking holistically
about the experiences we're designing and the outcomes we're after.
It's
about better
meeting the
needs of today's modern
learners so that they can be given every opportunity in tomorrow's world.
That's
about differentiated learning but it's
about differentiating the way you relate to students, it's not just
about figuring out how the content ought to be packaged to
meet the
needs of a particular
learner, their understanding and so forth, it's
about how you are and the relationship that you establish with those kids and you
need to understand a whole range
of things to be able to do that well.
These standards are
about how every school library can evolve in a purposeful way to
meet the
needs of learners.
In the past, I've written several articles
about the myths that prevents many teachers from using Differentiation as an integral part
of how they
meet learner needs.
Each week, we
met to talk
about the required curriculum, the strategies that proficient readers use, and the unique
needs of our struggling older
learners.
As practicing classroom teachers, we discuss differentiating instruction to
meet the

about reducing fractions.
Having to submit these service plans forced principals to think more intentionally
about how they could
meet the
needs of their English
learners.
