Hi Ella As I just moved out and start to get braver in kitchen experiments, I'm thinking
about buying a food processor for
nut butters, engery bites and so on.
But i've put on a little bit of weight, only
about 3/4 pounds but I think I may be eating too much maple syrup /
nut butter etc..
To make the filling place the
nuts in a food processor and allow them to blend into a
nut butter, this should take
about 5 - 10 minutes depending on the strength of your processor.
I love mine with almond
butter, fresh berries and a squeeze of honey but it's also delicious with toasted
nuts, banana slices and just
about anything else you've got in your kitchen.
Pudding 4 1/2 cups macadamia
nuts — preferably soaked and dehydrated 4 1/2 tablespoons coconut
butter 6 grams or
about 3/4 cup Irish moss — soaked in hot water for 10 or more minutes and drained 3/4 cup raw agave syrup or more if you like sweeter 1 1/4 cup sliced banana 2 1/4 cups coconut milk — see panna cotta recipe 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 1/2 vanilla bean — seeds matcha powder — to taste

Plus there are so many different ways to go
about making the blender base:
nut butter, coconut, avocado, and this recipe is adding a low - fat option to that creamy dreamy list.
It's just important to get the ratios right for the
butter mixture to be enough — you'll need
about 8 cups of total volume made up of dry crunchy things and
nuts.
Sprinkle
about 1/2 cup of the chopped
nut mixture over the 10th layer of phyllo dough, then top with 3 more sheets of pastry and brush with
butter between each sheet, then sprinkle with more
nuts.
Cream room temperature
butter and brown sugar together for 5 — 8 minutes / Add egg & milk mixture (w / extracts) a little at a time until fully incorporated / By hand or with mixer on lowest speed, alternately add flour and buttermilk until just incorporated — don't overmix at this point for the tenderest cake / By hand gently stir in 2 — 3 cups of rhubarb sauce so that it swirls through the batter / Place in a 9 - inch square or 10 - inch round pan coated with just a little
butter and flour / Sprinkle evenly with chopped almonds (or, use local hazelnuts instead, or omit the
nuts) / Bake at 325º for
about an hour, until skewer comes out clean when tested / Macrina Bakery dusts the cake with powdered sugar and coarsely chopped almonds / Cake is tender until completely cooled so handle with care.
I had heard for some time
about making your own
nut butters and how it is better, cheaper and all this, so of course I had to give it a whirl — literally since you make in a food processor.
Banana
Nut Cake 2 cups Gold Medal ® all - purpose flour 1 package (3.4 ounce) banana cream pudding mix 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted
butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 3 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 3/4 cup buttermilk 1 1/4 cups mashed bananas (
about 3 large) 3/4 cup chopped peanuts
When I went into my kitchen to investigate, I found a 1/2 jar of almond
butter leftover from a cookie order, 1/4 of a Trader Joe's Pound Plus dark chocolate bar,
about 10 half - bags of
nuts, and 24 ounces -LRB-!)
If I have time in the morning I'll make a quick
nut butter and jelly sandwich and cut it up for Boo to have as a snack later when we are out and
about.
Heat
butter in a skillet over medium heat until
butter is foaming and
nut - brown in color, stirring constantly
about 3 to 5 minutes.
2 tbsp =
about 200 calories (just like any other
nut butter).
Next time I might leave out the
nut butter (I used peanut
butter which was a bit overpowering) and the oats (I wasn't crazy
about the oat texture in there).
Since folks seem to be particularly curious
about particular
nut butter brands / types: I used Woodstock smooth organic peanut
butter.

about one - third of the tamari mixture over the
nut butter.

nut butter (if you're worried
about the mold content in peanuts or if you're avoiding legumes... but I'll be honest, pb tastes the best in this but any
nut butter works!)

about it, a spread made from chickpeas (also legumes) is a logical extension for a category that now includes everything from cashew...
Unfortunately, she's gluten - free, lactose - free and soy - free, can't have
nuts of any kind, and has to be very careful
about where her animal fats & proteins are sourced (they can't have any wheat in their diet either) so we just stick with Earth Balance Soy - free for a
butter choice.

Unknowingly, we actually already started it a few weeks ago, with our post
about homemade
nut butter.
Some of you got in touch and told us that this was the first time you've made
nut butter at home, so we realised that this could be a good opportunity for us (and you) to learn more
about classic methods, recipes and pantry staples that are popular in whole food kitchens.
