I have been
thinking about paint colors for it but it is sooo hard because it is going to be all open.
We've just purchased and moved into our «forever» retirement home and I've been thinking
about the paint colors we'll use once we're ready to paint.
What led you to start thinking
about your painting in ways that, eventually, completely removed these aspects?

This is why I think I can talk
about his paintings as being different — they are a shift from what people felt comfortable with in that moment.
The great
thing about painting furniture with chalk paint is that you don't have to prime or sand it!

It is an exhibition of
paintings about painting, where each work functions as a contemplation of the medium's most basic ingredients.
I've received many
questions about paint colors and sources of items in our home so I thought it my be helpful for me to go room by room with a source list.
I especially
worry about painting things that you can't do over easily — like wooden cabinets and antiques.
I know
all about painting on can goods throughout the kitchen, breakfast room, and dining room!
And I was going to
ask about the paint on the dresser, but saw you just answered that question.
I am thinking
about painting on a layer of resin to protect it from the water for years to come.
And
reading about the paint by numbers pictures reminded me of my childhood, and what fun it would be to do it again..
So it was a very complicated time for me as an educator, to figure out how to insist on a
conversation about painting rigor in relation to contemporary art.
After that, I didn't really know how to
go about painting something that wasn't in front of me.
I would only be brave
about painting walls and cabinets, not putting up wild tiles as I would grow tired of them and they are so hard and expensive to change.
And did you know that you can color match
just about paint color at the hardware store?
I didn't know
anything about painting, my prices weren't the lowest around and I'm sure that I was up against very experienced local pros.
