If I'm being completely transparent with you, I didn't get the BEST
picture of me in the full
outfit (like a formal
outfit picture)... and the reason why is because I am still very insecure
about my body.
If its an
outfit post, the cumulative time of taking
pictures, editing them and writing the post takes me
about 2 hours.
Please pardon the fact that I'm pairing
outfit pictures with a completely unrelated discussion
about meal prep, but it's a quandary that happens to be on my mind lately and I consider myself insanely lucky to have a community of women whose brains I can pick
about book recommendations, bucket list travel, goal setting, name changing, wedding traditions, and so on.

There are two embarrassing facts
about my black culottes

outfit posts: first, they are so old I've even had to re-dye them black before.

pictures per
outfit and
about half of them turn out decent.

picture above as it was taken at The Dewberry's Living Room Bar, which my friends and I ended up loving last month when we were in Charleston.

I've recently decided to reach out to a more professional photographer
about taking some
outfit pictures for my blog, and I am so lucky to have connected with Nicholas Tilley.
Some of you already asked
about my haul via Instagram and, therefore, I decided to take
outfit pictures with my favorite items!

Let's just say I wasn't feeling the whole process of getting dressed, taking

I was thinking
about taking
outfit pictures today but I just couldn't drag myself outside to do it in 35 degree weather!
Also I know exactly what you mean
about the sleeping until noon and hardly having time to take
outfit pictures.
Now that the post
about the shiny essentials for Christmas is complete, I would like to talk
about the
outfit in the
pictures.
And can we for one second talk
about the awkwardness of taking
outfit pictures.
We talked
about reshooting this
outfit, but I decided I wanted to give a glimpse into how «fun» it can be trying to take
pictures for an
outfit post.
A while ago I wrote to you
about my photography session with local photographer Leowell Gonzales, when I showed you my christmas
outfit pictures.
This is an unusual post for me considering I generally post
about style, but I've had quite a few people ask me
about these Chocolate Covered Raspberries I posted on Instagram, and it's been such a busy week at my new job that I don't have any new
outfit pictures to blog
about:).
The crisp autumn weather yesterday was perfect for
picture taking and the perfect complement to my
outfit that includes all of my favorite things
about fall: fall colors, layering and plaid scarves.
You remember that in the last
outfit post I talked
about taking
pictures in the restaurant garden?
I wasn't quite sure how I felt
about this
outfit when I took the
pictures, but I think it turned out okay!
So yes, I think taking
pictures of your
outfits (even if you're not blogging
about them) is a good way to see how something looks on you and if how you styled it works too.
I am loving the whole
outfit and how
pictures came out, but that skirt just makes me look preggers when viewing me from the side, so I need to do something
about that asap or the skirt has to go, sad but true.
I remember the very first time I realized a
picture spoke more clearly
about my
outfit choices than the mirror and my personal opinion.
