Studies by the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine agree that a
puppy's initial period of
socialization begins at birth and lasts up to
about 12 weeks (3 months) of age.
Other than for
puppy socialization classes and visiting our animal hospital, keep your
puppy only on your property until after his / her final Distemper - Parvo vaccine, which is usually at
about four months old.
The biggest thing to remember
about socialization is that you want to expose your
puppy to various stimuli only when you can control his or her experience.
