Bigot traditionally
hatred of a group of people, especially a
racial, regional, or religious group, based on preconceived notions
about said group.
He made generalizations
about the English that, if he had made them
about practically any other group, would have landed him in court on a charge of incitement to
racial hatred, while he berated the Welsh for their insufficiently militant nationalism, supinely preferring their own individual material advancement and comfort to the cause.
Much of the rest of the film feels forced — from the preachy animated prologue, to obvious, basic themes
about racial division, tension and
hatred.
A letter to the editor by Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane, published the next day, delivered a similar rebuttal: he argued that «racism is as much
about impact as it is
about intention», and highlighted that malice,
hatred or doctrinal commitment aren't necessarily requirements for
racial prejudice or discrimination.
