Hello, Aristotle, I can't find my notes from Dr. Perlmutter's
Grain Brain about specific protein requirements, but two other very creditable doctors who tout very similar diets to Dr. Perlmutter's say that your daily protein need is 1/2 gram per pound of lean mass.
Before learning
about Dr. Perlmutter's
Grain Brain theory, I had already been eating
about 5 - 6 avocados a week, taking 1 - 2 tablespoons of coconut oil daily, eating coconut butter, using coconut milk in recipes, using flax seed oil in salad dressings, fermenting vegetables (especially tempeh for B vitamins), and taking Krill Oil supplements, while maintaining a mostly vegan diet.
I could be wrong, but I am pretty confident I am on the right path, by eating a gluten - free low - carbohydrate diet as prescribed in the book
Grain Brain, getting consistent exercise, managing stress, avoiding toxins in my cosmetics, food, cleaning products, etc. and being diligent
about my sleep habits.
We are trying to do the
Grain Brain lifestyle however I have a few questions
about the cooking oils.
