about it for a moment: unless a law firm has a very narrow,
niche practice, it's virtually impossible for a firm Twitter feed to be engaging and relevant to all clients, who potentially have hundreds of areas of interest and concern.
The more you know
about where your work comes from, which are your profitable
practice areas (don't forget that profitable means revenue minus the expenses of serving the client), which areas could spawn profitable
niches, and generally, what the firm's strengths are, the better guidance you can give your agency.
Being selective
about practice niches is less of a concern in larger shared law office suite with many attorneys from diverse
practice areas.
So especially if you're a lawyer that's just starting out with a solo and small
practice, you really want to think
about what your
niche is.
It is tempting to try to cast your net wider by writing
about several different
practice areas, but we find that it is more effective to focus on your
niche.
